It is possible that you got defective ram. you may need to replace it. if this does not solve the problem, then you may need a VGA card, or your motherboard may need replacement

Gateway one gz7108 will not power on when graphics card is in the graphics slot .but wil power when it out of the slot.

You may have to go into the system BIOS and change which is the primary video adapter. It may be looking at the onboard video as the default which is why you don't see anything when trying to use your addon video card.

Hope that helps.

Power led is lite, fan at power supply and processor also running.but my monitor is totally blank.

Make sure the monitor is pluggen in. Make sure the monitor is connected to the PC. Try another known working monitor. If you have a video card, with the power to the PC turned off and the power cord unplugged from the PC , pull the video card out an put it back in , this will reseat the card it may help. If you do not have a video card and think it is your intergrated video, try install a video card.

Monitor Issue

Hello,

If your pc is powers up but you get no video, your problem may be witht the monitor itself or the video cable pins (15 pin). If you pc does not power on, try removing the video card (if it is not part of your main board) and try to power up the pc. If the pc power up, replace the video card.

Good Luck

What kind of a problem are you having with the PCI Express video card? Does the card have a power adapter connector? Did you plug in a power cable to the video card?

I want to upgrade video card for my pc(HP Pavillion a1120n) i wanted to know what kind of video card is compitible with my pc. please help thanks. ;)

From what I gather, your computer has a PCIe v1.0 slot for a video card upgrade and comes with intel on-board video. So you will need a PCIe 2.0 video card (v1.0 are no longer available and 2.0 are backwards compatible)

I assume, like most PC's, yours has a 350-450 Watt Power Supply. Check your power supply to be sure, you just can't put any video card, you are limited to the available power from the power supply. If you want a top of the line video card for gaming you will need a more powerful power supply. If all you need is better performance and better video quality (DVI/HDMI) then any sub $100 dollars card will do.

I cannot emphasize enough, check your power supply wattage capacity and the watts required by the new card before buying.

Also, do you have additional power connection from the power supply for the new card? most cards, not all, require a 6-pin PCIe power connector.

WHEN I SWITCH MY MONITOR ON ITS IT CUTS OUT BUT

I would check the power cable is inserted fully, then check PC to monitor cable is also inserted firmly.

If still same try monitor on another PC as it may be a video fault from PC.If it works OK on another PC then video card / mobo is faulty.
If your PC has a video card shut down PC pull power plug out of PC and remove replace video card, quite often fixes that problem.

Pb not seeing my new video card

The 9600 video card, I am fairly sure, has a connection on the card itself for power. Have you maybe fogotten to connect the power supply to the video card? If not , try reseating the video card.  A third possibality.. Some MB, if they have on board video, require you to turn off the "on board video" in order for it to use (see) the New PCI video card. Hope this helps.
