Question about Panasonic PV-DV200 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

Open Question

No audio output to computer

I recently used an external mic with my Panasonic PV-DV200 camcorder. It recorded fine - when I play the video back in the camera I can hear the audio. However, when I try to upload it into my computer, the video uploads but there's no sound. I tried changing the VCR Play Mode - Audio setting to ST2 and MIX, but it still doesn't upload the audio with the video. Up until now, I haven't had a problem so I figure it must be something to do with the way the audio is recorded with an external mic. Any ideas? Thanks!

Connecting a panasonic pv-l354 to a computer

the only way that i have found to get the video off the camcorder from the tape is plug an audio video cable in the side of the camera then get a cable that will hook to your video card. then you will need some software that will record what ever video/audio is playing on your computer.

I own a Panasonic PV-GS31 Mini DV Digital Camcorder, I am a Private Investigator and while recording the sound needs to be muted, how can I accomplish this?

Hi There, There is no external mic input on that model camera. The only way to do it is you will have to take the front panel off the unit and disconnect the flat mic/audio cable from the front panel. If you do this, tape up the connector so it won't short out the unit. If you had external mic in, you could put a dummy plug in and that would cut the sound from the internal microphone.
Thanks, me cicmo

Input audio to PV-GS250 from an external mixer

Problem check list:

- Try another cable in the connection to rule out the cable
- Make sure the 1/8 plug goes in all the way
- Make sure you have it connected to proper outputs on the mixer (and that it's not a powered mixer!)
- Make sure you don't have the output volume up too loud on the mixer

How to Record From a TV Using PV-GS13?

connect a lead via your tv video out audio out jacks. Select tha appropriate channel (You may have to go through the av channel on you tv and tune in the channel you want to record) or, video or dvd player audio out video out jacks. connect other end to your camcorder. Select on the camcorder menu video in audio in. Turn on tv. If connected to video or dvd player, press play. Press record on your camera. When finished recording press stop. Presuming the camcorder is tape, you can buy a tape adaptor to play or record your mini tapes in a standard video recorder, then take them out of the adaptor and play them back on your camcorder. You can also do all this via a computer. Also if the camcorder is disk or hard drive it can be used the same way as a regular dvd recorder to record tv programmes once connected to you t.v. Let me know how you go 26 red

Built-in microphone does seem to work

The only way to really tell if the buit in mic. is bad is to replace the mic or plug another one in the external mic. jack. Also use the input (red and white) RCA jacks and input a signal from a stereo or TV into it and record. If still no sound then its probably Bad capacitors in the sound processor Printed Circuit board. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but mostly all of older camcorders suffer from this breakdown fault. Good luck
