Question about Dynex 5 Port 10/100 Ethernet Switch (DX-ESW5)
Bought new switch to help our home network have better connections. Now I did not want to get this one but my wife swore up and down that this one was cheap and should work just fine. Well i know cheap never works well. Now I have spent money on a worthless piece of **** until I can find a fix for the switch. And if I cant I have to get another one and now the one I want. Does anyone have a fix for this.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: my dynex usb hub is not working
You need to unplug the power adapter from the wall, and disconnect the usb cord from the PC/laptop for at least 30 seconds. Then plug everything back in. Apparently this model suffers from static electricity from time to time. I have this hub also and it works every time.

Here is a link to their Support site: http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/default.aspx Select "Troubleshooting/Connection" errors page. On the LEFT, select "Network Help". That should put you in the area you need.

You say you have the same problem when you connect the cable directly from router to laptop, so it apparently is not a hub problem. That leaves the router and the cable. You're fortunate in having a working system on the other port. Why not try swapping pieces to see which is the failed piece? For example, what if you swap the ports for the cables? If it's a router problem, then the "bad" cable should work when in the other port. What if you swap cables? That would reveal a bad cable. Finally, swapping computers would show a computer configuration problem, such as the connection not being set to automatic.

If your trying to use this to share an internet connection.. sorry to say but it's not going to happen. The hub that you purchased will not handle the DHCP settings that need to be processed to share an internet connection.
Best advice... go back to Best Buy and smack the agent that sold you this and get a router instead. :D That's what you're needing to share your connection.
