Does the set change up and down with the buttons on the front of the set or with the buttons on the remote?
There are only two possible reasons for this---with the remote or front keyboard go into the customer menu and select setup--look for autoprogram--if you have cable etc--make sure cable is also selected--then engage the auto program--let it go thru all the channels--if it works you are in business.
The second possible reason is very unlikely but possible--you may have some kind of micro processor problem that will prevent the set from operating normally---if it works with the buttons on the front of the set but not the remote--the problem is with the remote control.
PLEASE let me know what you find and what happens--I am here to help.

If you wish to fix this yourself, inspect first the contacts of the button on the inside of the TV. It might be just dirty or loose or may have been disconnected. While at it inspect the board for loose solders or burnt parts. If you have a tester, check for continuity in the circuit or contacts of the button. At this point you may not have any bad IC since the remote is working but further inspection may be needed.

UP Down tuner buttons on TV or remote will go to channel 1 and stay there no matter how many times you press up or down. If you select specific channel number on remote control it works OK. Does same thing with new remote control. I think something's wrong with tuner.
Barry here. Thanks for tip. Going to channel find program cured the problem.
