My Vip 612, when recording more than one channel and viewing either of these channels the screen pops up loss of signal. It doesen't return untill I unplug the unit for a few seconds. Upon repowering the unit seams to test for signal then returns to operating. The problem returns in seconds to minutes. I suspected heat, so removed cover an set fan blowing across unit. No luck. Experimenting I found that pressing the DVR button immediately restores the picture but again lasts seconds to minutes. Any help will be appreciated!!!

I would call for a technician to come out as it appears the receiver may have been incorrectly set up or is malfunctioning. I suspect that you have a Dish Pro LNB and are using one line into the 612 which uses DPP technology. The short of it is the two are only compatible if two lines are ran to the receiver and the seperator is eliminated. Without being there to test the system end to end it is all speculation. I have a Dish Network HD VIP 612 Solo DVR. At least three times a week I have to reset the unit as it will only display HD channels. It will not display the non-HD channels. Once reset it works properly. What is a permanent fix for this annoyance?

I HAVE DISH NETWORK HOOKED UP IN LIVING ROOM, I WOULD LIKE TO ADD IT IN BEDROOM OFF OF THE SAME RECIEVER. I USED A SPLITTER, THE PICTURE IN LIVING ROOM IS CLEAR, BUT REALLY FUZZY IN BEDROOM. I KNOW THEY WILL BE ON SAME CH, JUST WANT TO WATCH IN BEDROOM.
