The 42 LG is a problem machine and much has been written about it failing . This unit has also had a recall for the power and the sustain boards being unreliable Type LG 42" Problems and Recall into your browser.

If this is under any warranty return it to have the upgrades fitted If out of warranty speak of the recall.

Good luck

It is probably the wiring. Try buying a new power cord.
If not than it is just malfunctioned.

Tv wont turn on worked fine last night

If there is no power at all, then the problem is likely the power supply unit.
The PSU must be tested, then eventually replaced.

Please help with tv! green blinking light wont stop and tv wont turn on

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
