Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
1-800-My-XBOX - microsofts xbox repair number
If you're under warranty and can wait 3 weeks. Go for it. Patience is virtue my friend. Mine broke down 5 months ago, and I'm not the waiting type so I bought a guide I found on google. Fixed it myself and haven't had a problem since. simple enough for even me.
just go to google and type in something like: xbox 360 fix

Usally going on the xbox website should give details( http://www.xbox.com.au or http://www.xbox.com)
before you send it in, you should try and unplug the power pack and replug it back in then see if you still get red ring of death.

SOURCE: xbox 360 2 rings
One red light signifies a major hardware failure or system error , depending on which hardware failure or system error it is depends on how the problem can be fixed but in some cases there is no easy recovery and the console must be repaired or replaced. Two means the console is overheating and must be switched off and left to cool. Three, the infamous 'Red Ring of Death', means a general hardware failure and the console must be sent to Microsoft for repairs. All four red lights simply means that the console cannot detect its AV cable.

Well all that means is that your xbox has overheated... you're addicted and play too much. Just take a break. That is what 2 lights are and the fix is to STOP PLAYING!

SOURCE: Ring of death on original Xbox
An indicator light that is flashing red indicates that there is an Electrically Erasable Programmable
Read Only Memory (EEPROM) error and that Xbox cannot start. EEPROM is a memory device that does not lose the information programmed to it when power is lost.
This is where items such as language setting, video modes, audio modes, and game region are stored.
Back to the top THINGS TO TRY
1. Remove all discs from the Xbox console.
2. Turn off the Xbox console and leave it off for thirty seconds.
3. avoid overheating and other problems.
Make sure the Xbox console is not located near a heat source.
Heat sources can include TVs, computers, monitors, and other electrical devices.
Make sure the vents are not blocked. There are vents on the left and right side,
and on the rear of the Xbox console. Make sure each vent has at least six inches
of clearance and space for air to circulate. If the Xbox is inside a cabinet, move it to see
if this prevents heat problems.
4. After the Xbox console is set, turn it back on and make surethat you see a steady green indicator light on the front.
5. If the console continues to flash a red light, the console may need repair.
