My boyfriend put my system in my car with a pioneer cd player in with it. my amp is a Lanzar 425 1400watt. and i have two 10" subs.
it sounded GREAT when he hooked it up to the battery of my car then when he took it off that to ground it, well now it sounds like **** nd i cant turn it up at all or it shuts off the cd player... whats wrong with it? do i need a better cd player??
Check rca wiring to the amp 2 c if it got pinched then try swapping radio with a known good unit if it still happens try swapping amps. or try un hooking the amp then chrank radio up n c if it still doz it if not its the amp.
No you shouldn't need a new cd player. it sounds like the ground is not good!
the power wire red should go directly to the battery and it should be fused 18" or less from the battery! no the ground shoud be no longer than 18" and be secure directly to the body of the car at the thickest point of metal closest to the amp and the paint has to be scraped of so it is bare metal where the ground is mounted to.
this is the most important part. the ground has to have a very clean surface or you will get the problems you ave now.
if you have anymore question please ask and good luck
