It should be "keyed", i.e. only connect one way. Look at the plug closely to detect any difference.

If not ... try it one way ... if it doesnt work - turn it over.

I'm sure you will not do any damage to either as long as you dont force anything.

On the other hand ... keyboards are pretty cheap.

Let me know what happens.

Why does only half of my keyboard play

most likely a defect in the conductors or connector of the wiring from inside the keyboard to the cord
open the bottom of the keyboard, check the connector to see if the flat wiring is fully seated
unless this is the trouble it is time for a new keyboard
before you buy one use a keyboard from a friend to be sure this is the trouble

Sharp er a470 was changing faulty power cord and disconnected the keyboard, now after I put everything back together it won't come on. Checked power with multimeter, everything seems to be fine

Did you wear static protection while you were working inside? That's not for YOU, it's for the electronics. They're wicked sensitive to static.

BUT... it might also be the case that you just didn't plug everything back in perfectly. Go back inside, wearing static protection, and doublecheck every connector inside. EVERY connector, even if it's on the other side of the board.

My laptop shuts down in 5-10 mins.

Instructions

1

Purchase a new fan for the Sony Vaio model you have by checking the owner's manual of your computer or consult the Sony website for the correct part number.
2

Remove the power cord from your computer and then remove the battery. Unlock the battery and slide it from the bottom of the laptop. Allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes after removing the battery.

Turn the computer with the left side facing toward you and locate the only screw found on the left side and remove it. Remove the panel by sliding it toward you and set it aside.
4

Slide the panel covering the power buttons to the left and detach the ribbon cable connecting it to the motherboard and then remove the panel gently.
5

Remove the keyboard by unscrewing the small screw directly above the keyboard. Once the screw is removed, gently lift the keyboard and detach the small cord connecting it to the motherboard. Set the keyboard aside.
6

Remove the plate under the keyboard by unscrewing the three screws and lift the plate out.
7

Disconnect the cooler fan from the motherboard by pressing the connectors in and removing them from the sockets. Once the connections have been removed, lift the cooling fan up out of the computer.
8

Replace the old fan with the new one you purchased and attach the two connectors. Reinstall the metal plate back on top of the fan and attach the screws.

Power connector pinout for CT-13R50 television

Directly from the user manual, Page 5 under "AC/DC Power Sources":
DC Models ONLY
"This TV model operates on both standard household current (120 volt, 60 Hz AC) and car battery (12 volt negative ground DC) through the cigarette lighter. An AC power cord and a car cigarette lighter adapter cord are supplied.
Household Installation
Insert the AC power cord into the connection on the rear of the TV. Connect the two pronged plug into an AC outlet (120 volt, 60Hz). If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the wall outlet, try reversing it. If the plug does not fit, contact an electrician. Do not force the plug or defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug."

The manual goes on to describe the vehicle installation which is identical to the household, with the only difference being the car plug goes into the DC side of the power connections at the back.

There are several kinds of power cord available for older TV models. Unfortunately, after an exhaustive search, I was not able to locate a photo of the back of that model television.
However, I have included three of the typical US power connectors found on a great many devices and in the majority of cases, one of these cords will likely be the one you need. They can be found at most local stores such as Wal-Mart, or can be ordered online from Amazon. Also, the cored generally only fit in one direction, especially if the cord happens to be polarized (thin blade and wide blade).

I hope this helps!

When the power goes off, and back on, a majority of the time there is a rapid clicking noise where the power cord goes into the back of the reciever. If i unplug it, or alter the direction of the plug,...

It could be that you have a loose fitting power supply cord. Try replacing it and make sure it's pushed in FIRMLY. Also, blow away any dust or debris that maybe in the connector causing a poor connection. If it's actually sounding like it's inside the metal chasis of the amp. DO NOT TAKE ANY RISKS and un plug it, you will then HAVE TO tak it in...unles your a trained electronics guru type.
Good Luck

Got a used Compaq Pressario SR1303wm and need to set up correctly

Monitor into Small Blue connector at back.
If Mouse and keyboard are Round and not Rectangular in shape then that's a PS/2 Mouse and keyboard. Purple goes into Keyboard slot at back. Green goes into Mouse at back. Watch for the design as the pins inside each one need to be inserted accordingly.
If they ARE rectangular then that is a USB connection. On the back connect the keyborad and mouse to the top two. Again, only going to insert one ways.
