Re: Battery replacement

I have opened CHV1400 by removing two screws that are visible when you remove the "accessory" from its holder (located underside of the vacuum). After removing the 2 screws, I had to pull the green colored part by exerting slight force. You will now see the battery. It is held down by 2 more screws which are easy to remove.

Can the battery be damaged to have it on charge for too long

Of course. So charge it depends on the limited time of your battery.

My battery has suddenly stopped charging owned sweeper for about 6 months and followed directions for charging very specifically can I get a r e placement battery

Be certain the charger is working before you look to replace the battery. The manufacturers web site or the owners manual should have a part number for the battery.

I just adopted a Bissell 1719 spot cleaner from my sister-in-law but they don't have the manuals. How do I change the battery? I don't see any removable clips, just screws in the unit housing

Good evening,

Please see the below link for the user guide/manual to this unit:

This unit should include a charger for the battery. Below is the instructions on how to charge and maintain the battery.

If you need to actually replace the battery, the instructions below show the process:

Just a quick note, these units do come with a Ni-Cad battery, which should last you at least 5 years (closer to 6 or 7), and make sure that dispose/recycle the battery properly.

This can all be found in the manual (link provided at the top). I hope this helps, and please let me know if you need clarification. Please rate this solution!

How do I remove the battery in a Dustbuster chv1400 for replacement? I have removed the two screws and removed the cover, but I'm unable to figure out the retaining clips for the battery. Of course I don't...

That model looks similar to my DB200. Instead of the screws, the underside has a latch/panel that you remove. Place a screwdriver in the two slot-like holes that face each other (one at a time) and the 'door' should pop out. Mine was a little stiff and I broke one of the retainers inside. Shouldn't be a problem. Sourcing a replacement battery 'pack' is what I'm doing now.
Good luck!

How do you replace the 'after filter' in the electrolux guardian?

1. Press latch and open the door that covers the tools.
2. Squeeze clips at front of tool tray, lift and remove.
3. Remove filter.
4 Replace filter.
5. Replace tool tray and close door..

Instructions can be found in the Renaissance manual, which you can download from the following site. Go to "older models", find Renaissance and click on it, then click "download". Instructions are on page 9. The Renaissance is basically the same model as the Guardian.

I think I need to replace the main battery in my small floor vac - the one that can be hand held like a dust buster or work like a small floor vac. I need to know how to remove the battery and replace it...

I see my sense of humor is not was only a joke. Anyway, here is what you do: First, slide the battery cover off the bottom of the hand held unit. Remove the battery from the motor housing by pressing the tab on connector “A”; this releases the battery from the motor housing. Plug the new battery (LC-R064R2P) into connector “A”. When installing the battery the wires have to go in first and they must be placed in front of the battery or you'll never get the battery cover back on.

Removing the battery

The battery is located at the bottom of the handle. To release it, press and hold down the button on top of the battery case (it has 3 ridges on it). That releases a catch and you can then slide the battery out to the rear.
