Question about HP OfficeJet 7110 All-In-One Thermal Printer

Model d145 Serial #SG2BRD2030RR, Service #13281. Repeated scanner failure. Turn power Off then On again and slow warm up. Have t0 run a copy before it will scan. Also recent problem. Bad Printhead Replace Yellow. Replaced Yellow in August, and Yellow again and all others 9-3 thru 9-17, still same problem. Ink cartridge and Printhead Print Out Good. What next?

The message 'Scanner failure, Power off and on' displays on the control panel of the product. This error can occur when you try to scan or make copies, or when the product is warming up after you turn it on. They have two ways to fix it the first one as follows:
Solution one: Check the scanner light
Make a color copy of any document by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the product control panel. While the product is making the copy, lift the scanner lid slightly to see if the scanner light is visible.
Do not open the scanner fully to look at the light just a small opening so you do not hurt your eyes.
If the scanner mechanism moves across the scan bed, but the light is not lit, proceed to Solution six: Service the product .
If the light is lit, proceed to the next solution
Solution two: Check operating conditions
Extreme temperatures can affect the operation of the product. Make sure the operating conditions match those recommended in the User Guide provided with the product.
Solution three: Check the power connections
Make sure that the part number on the power supply matches the part number listed in the User Guide .
Disconnect the power cord from any power strips or surge suppressors, and then plug it directly into a wall outlet.
Try making a color copy by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the product control panel.
If the copy job is successful, you do not need to continue troubleshooting. Power strips and surge suppressors can sometimes prevent enough voltage from reaching the product.
If the error message displays again, temporarily move the product to a different room, or plug the power cord into a different wall outlet.
Try making a color copy by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the product control panel.
If the copy job is successful, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
If the error message displays again, proceed to the next solution
Solution four: Perform a power cycle
Turn the product off.
Unplug the power cord from the product.
Wait 30 seconds, and then connect the power cord to the product.
Turn the product on.
Make a color copy by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the control panel.
If the copy job is successful, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
If the error message displays again, proceed to the next solution.
Solution five: Reset the product
Follow these steps to reset the product.
Step one: Perform a partial reset
Disconnect the power cord from the product.
Press and hold # and 3 while reconnecting the power cord to the product, and then release both buttons.
Try making a color copy by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the product control panel.
If the partial reset resolves the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
If nothing worked, go the next step.
Step Two: Perform a semi-full reset This may delete all phone numbers on the unit

Disconnect the power cord from the product.
Press and hold # and 6 while reconnecting the power cord to the product, and then release both buttons.
Try making a color copy by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the product control panel.
If the semi-full reset resolves the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
If the error message displays again, proceed to the next solution
Solution six: Service the product

Hello it means that the scanner bulb temperature is too low or there is some internal or external electrical malfunction.Try these solutions.

Since when this problem started (have you done any updates or instalation of application,), Have you try Reset the Printer after replug and power on.

replace the scanner or the whole unit. only way I have found is to replace the top half of the machine

The only thing I can surgest is that you check installed programs I found that the 750 is very fussy about being the only kid on the block. Maybe worth trying a commercial program that says it will remove "junk" from your hard drive

This error usually occurs when trying to scan, to make copies, or during the product start up.
Try the solutions in this document until the issue is resolved. It is not necessary to continue to the next solution if one solution resolves the issue.
Solution one: Check the scanner light
Make a color copy of any document by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the control panel. While the product is making the copy, slightly lift the scanner lid to see if the scanner light is visible.
CAUTION: Do not look directly at the light. It is not necessary to completely open the lid to see the light.
If the scanner mechanism moves across the scan bed, but the light is not lit, click here to service the product .

It could be the bulb. Sometimes disassembling the scanner and thoroughly cleaning the glass and mirror will help.

I assume from your remark you are using this as a stand alone device or are you connected to Computer? If you are using as stand alone try through the computer. If you are using it through the computer then simply re install the software. If you are using it as stand alone only. Contact the makers website for more detailed support.
