Re: does not turn on
When the green light flashes.. this mean the processor in the set is shuting the set down. for some saftey issue. it doesnt want to cause a fire or damage the set further. it can be one of many issues. techninicans have speacial equipment to read the set to determine the errors. this is pretty standard with this set

U DM power supply board have dead capacitors, before the capacitors have some functions left, that why u able to recycles by pushing the power buttons 3 or 4 cycles to get power to the tv.U have tools, soldering iron, solders, and know to do soldering?Tries website like Tvrepairworld.com to buy a capacitors kit, that design to replaced in the DM power supply board.Look around and replaced these dead capacitors,it alway bulges up or puff up on it top.Ur tv will power up and as normal again.
On Deflection board CK capacitors cp150 2200uf 16v if it is puffed up on top it is bad their is 2 more caps in same circuit replace them also cp114 cp120 220uf 35v also resolder all pins on FBT flyback Transfomer
Most probable cause is the CP150 and the CP120 and CP114 capacitors. You can get the replacement capacitors with instructions at the following link under RCA parts category. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
the rca itc222 will shut down for any of 25 different reason. the fact that u see a flashing light lets u know one thing it is not the main fuse. the most common reasons for shut down involve high voltage parts. In the shop we have a computer interface that let us diagnose much like error codes in a car. the d52w20 is a old version of the tic222 and average repair at my shop is 250 to 400 and if its the tubes then it wont be worth fixing. tubes run 250 apeacie and by the time labor is put in that can run as high as 1000. I SEE ALOT of these at shop. How are you with electronics. rember this set can hold a charge and can be dagerous
Same thing here....RCA tells me to count the times the light flashes as it apparently is set to "tell" you what the problem is.......3 to 5 flashes means your lamp is messed up.....they are over $300 to replace!
