Question about IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T60p Notebook
Hi - I have a Lenovo T60p (2613-CTO) which has a noisy fan. In order to get at the fan I have to start by removing the palm rest assembly. i have looked at the Lenovo service manual and at their service videos, which show that you remove 4 screws and lift the palmrest up from the keyboard edge to remove it. The problem is that my palmrest has a ground strap just under the right side of the touchpad that prevents me from lifting it out. This is not the data cable but a silver ground strap. It is not mentioned in the service data. Anyone know how I can properly remove this connection? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Any luck replacing the noisy fan? I also have a 2613-CTO with a noisy fan and am assuming I will need to make the same repair. Do you have a part number for the replacement fan? Also where were you able to get a service manual and/or access to service videos.
