The word UNLOCK may appear in the display if there is a problem receiving a digital audio signal.

Ensure the correct input is selected to receive the Audio/Video (A/V) from the appropriate source.
Ensure a digital cable is connected to appropriate DIGITAL jack.
Ensure the other end of the digital cable is properly connected to the A/V source.
Ensure the A/V source is set appropriately to output a digital signal.

Also, make sure that the input mode is selected to Auto mode and try connecting two devices together with the Receiver. Then, select the other input other than satellite and reduce the volume and later select the Satellite. This should resolve the issue

From your description it sounds like the LED board underneath may be faulty in the sense that some of the LED's may have blown, this can be repaired but i advis that you take to a qualified engineer to assess and then replace

This sounds like a reception problem in your unit. You will probably need to send to Garmin for repairs or replacement. Make sure you have a good clear view of the sky when attempting to locate.
