    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN NOT RESTORE IT OR ANYTHING AND HAVE HAD IT FOR A WEEK PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE PERFORMED THE RESET AND RESTORE STEPS AND TO NO AVAIL.

    I bought my son a Zune for Christmas... Hedownloaded his music from the pc to it, but wanted videos also. Microsoft techs told him to delete everything and start over and now it won't even take the software. It is just a brick laying there... no content and you can't do anything with it. HELP!!!

    • I have a problem, my friend gave me his zune, and I deleted everything off my zune, but it's still saying that the 29gb are used out of 30 by another computer. I'm trying to figure out how to free up this space reserved by another computer

If it says "contact support" restoring it will not work anymore. listen to the zune's hard drive. if it spins but makes a repeittive noise, the HDD is broken. if it doesn't spin at all either the hard drive of the motherboard may be broken. on the 80gb zune it's usually the logic board or the hard drive cable that causes this. there is a zune repair tutorial online gives you an idea on how to do the replacement yourself. parts are on ebay.

Hi if you are getting the error 5 contact support message your HD is going bad. You can try re loading the firmware but if that does not work then the HD will need to be replaced.

Try Resetting you Zune. To do this, Hold down the Back button and up on the Touchpad for about 15-20 seconds. If this does not work, I would contact Microsoft.

How do i get my music from my windows nedia player


You need to use the Zune software. The Zune player does not recognize anything other than the Zune software. that is why when you connect it it will not show up as a connected device under Explorer. There is a way to hack the Zune but it requires some work and patience. Look up media monkey and read all about it.

Try these ideas first, except calling for service since it's out of the warranty: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931912. If this doesn't work then, you'll have to erase all the content on your Zune through the buttons on it and use the Zune software to restore the firmware and getting it to boot again. If this doesn't work, then the hard drive may be bad in the Zune and will need to be replaced. If the hard drive is bad, you'll usually hear a lot of repetitive clicking. I hope this helps.

you could have a bad charging cord and also you can try to turn the hold button on and off that sometimes works

Make sure the hold/lock is not engaged

Make sure the OS is compatible

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.



Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
