Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Open Question

For some reason my computer is not printing and every once in a while at the right hand bottom of my screen a pop up comes up saying the printer is disconnected. A few minutes ago it said it was ready to go, I tried to print and it still did not work.

SOURCE: Canon pixma mp210 printer -

Dear merryan,

This printer uses FINE cartridge which has memory chip inside that store ink level data. Once the cartridge is EMPTY we cannot restore this data to be FULL even though we physically refill ink until FULL. So the printer keep displays NO INK warning.

Similar with using compatible cartridge, NO INK warning still remain because ink level data has been recorded as empty. Why?. Here is the explanation. As far as I know no third party compatible cartridge produced this printer since canon protect it with the chip. Compatible cartridge that sold in the market is refurbish cartridge which repacked with another brand.

To fix this problem we need to deactivate ink level detection function by holding down STOP/RESET button for about 9 seconds or more for each cartridge. The consequence of this is ink level become UNKNOWN.
Hope this will be helpful to you

Regards,

Xanda

SOURCE: Cannot print with Lexmark x4875, Windows Vista OS.

You need to cancel all print jobs for a printer, you must have permission to manage documents on the printer.

1. Open printers by clicking the "Start" button , clicking "Control Panel," clicking "Hardware and Sound," and then clicking "Printers."

2. To open the print queue, double-click the printer you are using.

3. Click the "Printer" menu, and then click "Cancel All Documents." Depending on the printer, the item currently printing might finish, but the remaining items will be cancelled.

Next, you may have to change the communication format called the "Spool format."
Please follow the steps given below to change the spool data format:
1. Click on "Start," "Control Panel," "Hardware and Sound" and "Printers."
2. Then, right click on the Lexmark printer icon and left click "Properties."
3. Either on the "Advanced" tab or the "General" tab for some models, there is a "Print Processor" button, left click it.
4. This is the spool format setting. Under "Print processor" it should be set to "Lexmark 4800 series print processor." Next, under "Default datatype," select "NT EMF 1.008."
5. Click "OK" and exit back out to your desktop.
6. Please try printing again.
If this does not help the situation, please describe any differences it does make.

Won't print it always says document in queue

This sometimes happens if a print job freezes before, or during the print. I would suggest two things. Open up your print que, which you should be able to access from the bottom right hand side of your screen in your task bar. Right click, and open print que. If there is a print job in the que that says printing, try to right click on the job and cancel it. If this does not work and you have not done so already, restart your computer and your printer! Go back into the que if you have to and if the job is still there, right click and cancel job again. Then, retry printing a something different from your printer. This should solve your problem.

Que proplem

Hi,

There are two things you might be missing.

Both involve getting into the printer que.

It sounds like you already know where that is. If not, open your start menu and go into control panel then click into the printer section and double click the printer that is giving you trouble

once open look at the top of the que window and see if it says Use offline after the printer name. If it does, click on the printer drop down menu. and it will also have a Use offline option which will have a check mark beside it, click it and the printer will go back online.

If this is not the case you may have a document jammed or the print spooler is locked up.

To release/cancel a jammed que, look at the first document in the que and if it has an error of any kind in the status column you can right click on the name of the document and then select cancel from the popup menu. If there's no error message or if that doesn't work your print spooler may be jammed up. This can happen for a host of reasons but is simple enough to check.

close the que and go to your My Computer Icon, Right click it and then select manage, If you're using Vista then a continue window will pop up, select continue. When the management console opens, hit the plus sign/arrow near the bottom for Services and Applications then select the sub category services. A full list of Services will come up on the right hand side. Double click Print Spooler. Now Click stop, this will take a few seconds. Once it's done close the windows, and shut down the computer, once it's off, turn the printer off for 10 seconds and turn it and the computer back on. You will need to go back into the services list, double click print spooler again and make sure it is started.

Now go back into your printer que and make sure it's empty, right clicking and deleting anything that survived the restart. If this works the printer should start working again. If not at worst you may need to uninstall the printer and reinstall it.

Hope this helps FixYa

C84 Wont print red

The printer colour cartridges are magenta, cyan and yellow. The printer prints "red" by mixing magenta and yellow ink. So, if you only get yellow when you print red, it means you aren't getting any magenta ink on the paper.

Have you tried a cleaning cycle? If not, try one (right click the little printer icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select head clean). Now run a nozzle check (right click the little printer icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select nozzle check). Is there any sign of magenta ink on the paper. Try up to three cleaning cycles. If ink is now flowing, but not yet perfectly, don't carry out any more cleaning cycles. Just leave the printer for 24 hours (to allow any air in the print head to disperse). Then repeat the cleaning cycle/wait process. It may take a while to restore a perfect nozzle check print.

If you have already done lots of head cleans with no result, are you sure you have a good magenta ink cartridge? To eliminate the possibility of a faulty cartridge, buy a new set of compatibles on E-Bay - they're very cheap. You can always re-use the old one later if it turns out it is OK.

If none of the above works, then you may have blocked magenta print head nozzles. You can try soaking the print heads for 24 hours (or more), as follows. Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head moves out of its parking position, pull the power cord out of the back, or turn the printer off at the mains. You may now carefully move the print head by hand over to the left hand side out of the way. Look inside the print head parking area on the right and you will see a small rubber cup that comes up to cover the print nozzles when the head is parked (to stop it drying out). Use a syringe or dropper to fill this cup with head cleaning fluid or distilled water. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Carefully push the print head by hand fully into its parking position so that the cup full of fluid
comes up over the print head. Do not turn the printer on at any stage in this process. Leave this for at least 24 hours, then turn the printer on and try a head clean/nozzle check again. If you get any magenta ink on the nozzle check, then there is hope! Repeat the process until you get a full magenta nozzle check. If nothing, repeat the process once more.

If still nothing, post a new comment detailing what you have done and the results.

Double sided printing

To fix this issue, select on the start button on the bottom left of your screen then click on Control Panel. In Control Panel click on printers. Left click on the OfficeJet G55 printer once then right click on it and select Properties. Click on the Printing Preferences button then on that window that pops-up select on the Finishing tab. If you have the correct drivers installed, you will find an option there (a check box) to enable to print to both sides. Check that if you have it.

Hope this solves your problem. Let us know if it don't.

Thanks.

Epson Stylus C84-brand new - will not print

When the green light flashes by itself, it means the printer is up to something e.g. doing a head clean. Once you have got the green light steady AND the ink light off AND the paper light off, you are ready to print. If you get nothing on the paper in this situation it simply means the ink is not getting from the cartridges to the paper. Before you go any further, it is ESSENTIAL to be sure you have a good set of ink cartridges. If you are not sure, fit a new set - you can always use the old set in due course when your printer is working properly.

Have you tried a cleaning cycle? If not, try one (right click the little printer icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select head clean). Now run a nozzle check (right click the little printer icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select nozzle check). Is there any sign of ink on the paper. Try up to three cleaning cycles. Then repeat the cleaning cycle/wait process. It may take a while to restore a perfect nozzle check print. If these actions produce no positive results, report back.

WHEN I HIT PRINT NOTHING COME OUT BUT WHEN I SHUT DOWN THEN I START IT UP AGAIN THE PRINT COME OUT WHY

check and make sure the printer is "online" - look under the printers and scanners applet
Make sure spooling is active
This sounds like the print buffer is not active so the print job is being written to your hard drive instaed of the printer buffer.
Send the document to the printer then double click on the print manager icon in the status area of the screen ( bottom right hand corner) you should see the document in the list and if there is a problem, scroll along to the right to read what is happening with the document.
If this list is full, cancel all documents and clear this list.
Then reboot your machine to clear the printer buffer and the printer should not print anything on reboot.
Then print the document again but only once, then recheck print managers list.
Most printing issues can be seen here in print manager..

let me know if this helps

Lex z25 not printing

Mine wasn't printing at all, but now its printing color. I still don't know why it won't print black, but what I did was go into the control panel, I clicked on printers and faxes found the Z25 and right clicked it. I then clicked on properties, I clicked on the advanced tab, went down to the bottom of that section and clicked printing defaults, that opened the window for the properties for the printer. Once there I clicked on options in the top right corner and clicked on Lexmark Z25-Z35 Solution Center. On the maintenance tab I clicked "Clean to fix horizontal streaks", it takes to you a pop-up that says "Clean and Test Nozzles" a page will start printing to show if you have broken lines or unbroken lines when you print, either way it should clear your nozzles enough for the ink to start coming out again. If you need to repeat it the "Clean and Test Nozzles" pop-up had a box that says "clean again. Once you are done with that you can close the pop-up. If that doesn't solve the problem there are other things to try on the maintenance page besides the "Clean to fix horizontal streaks". Hope it starts working for y'all too. I still have to figure out the black part.
