SOURCE: Dryer belt broke and the

Below the motor pulley is two sets of parallel slots and some notches running perpendicular to them. Look at the tensioner, the piece that is laying on its side. Notice opposite of the roller is a flat surface with flanges that line up to the holes below the motor pulley. Ok? Alright now we want to scoop the front into one of those notches and it will hold. Now the belt goes over this roller on the tensioner first pushing slightly away from the motor pulley causing enough slack to loop it around the motor pulley so it goes over then around. Have someone hold the drum and steady so you can reach in, ps make sure the dryer is unplugged.:)
Ok here is a site I use to get illustrated, Look it over and punch in your model so you can see roughly how to get er done. Notice item 53 this is on my dryer, use www.apdepot.com.

The belt for the dryer is not in place and the dryer is not longer spinning. how would i fix that? There is also a piece with a wheel on it that i cannot figure out where it goes but looks as though it is...

Look up "Tension Pully & Belt Diagram" on internet for your dryer on google or Dogpile. You should be able to find how to
put the Tension Pully back where it belongs & how to thread the belt through it and back on to the motor drive shaft. Check different sites for the right picture for your dryer. Here's a picture to get you started. Good luck,

Cant figure out how the belt tensoner works to hold the belt tight i have a kenmore 70 series electric dryer

There are 2 slots underneath the motor pulley.
The flat part of the tensioner goues in these slots.
The roller wheel will then be on your left.
With the belt around the drum, run the belt under the wheel and through the tensioner, then over the motor pulley.

Can't Put Belt On

You have to remove the front of the dryer to
access the drum. First unplug the dryer. There are screws at the bottom of the front to remove the lower section. Once you remove that you can get to the screws for the door section. The front of the drum rides on the inside of the front panel so when you remove the panel the drum will drop down. Try to keep the drum in place with something to hold it up. Remove the old belt and place the new belt around the drum. Slid the belt back to where the belt used to ride and then loop the belt around the motor and the tension wheel. Make sure the tension wheel is tightening the belt. Hold up the drum and put the front panel back on. You may need a helper to hold things while you do this. Rotate the drum by hand and make sure it moves smoothly. Plug it back in and give it a try. I hope this helps. Any questions feel free to ask. Please rate me so I know if I'm Helping. Thanks.

  • Just like this but imagine the roller as being a semicircle.
put pressure on the tensioner with the belt and loop the belt under the tensioner to the motor.
