Hello

You can buy an new trnsmitter from the manufacturer, but it is going to cost you.
The alternative is to go on ebay, you can basically find anything there for much cheaper. I found single units part of a set there, so give it a try.
Please rate this.

Best regards

Disassembly of transmitter

A great many speaker manufacturers use solid fixed enclosures fused or snapped together for permanent application. This is a cost saving measure to eliminate screws and added manual labor/time. You can use a Dremmel cutter to cut along the connection lines and open the enclosure, but be prepared to reseal when done.

Just got a advent aw820 wireless speakers and there is no light that comes on when i plug in the transmitter what do i do?

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
hope this helps

I do know that the transmitter would not transmitt the HD audio. I had to also hook up the analog signal from my DVR and BLU RAY so the sound would get transmitted from the amp to the transmitter and on to my speakers

900 mhz wireless speakers?

Hi Ethan,

A Google turned out that the AR model AW871 amplified wireless speakers have replaced the AW820. Same specs – slightly different appearance.

Additionally, you may want to check out here for possible AW820.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Spkrs quit receiving signals

Hi, assuming you can open the enclosure of the Advent, work on the amp section (please make sure you've isolated the power supply and you will be working with the low voltage section of the circuitry only.) Inject an audio signal, it does not matter where in the amp section, just try the different solder points of the small capacitors normally in the 1uf value. at least one of them should give you a good amplified output from the speakers. In the absence of a signal gen, you may want to try (with care)using your bare finger which should produce a humming sound of about 60HZ or a slight thump in the speaker. If such a sound is produced, then the amp is good and the powersupply is doing its work. You have now isolated the problem to the 900MHz receiver. Am not sure if you can purchase modular replacement in your area but you can also try the sig gen or finger method except for the front end (rf section). Re the humming sound, such a problem is normally related with the power supply section with a defective or leaky capacitor. It is also possible that the input stage of your amp is not grounded right. You actually have just to work on it in stages to simplify fault diagnosis. Since you can hard wire, why not try salvaging parts/module from one unit and putting it in the other to make at least one working while looking for replacement parts/module for the other half of the Advent. Hopes this work out for you. Please let me know how things turn up. Regards
