Wifi stopped working for ipod 4th generation

Go into settings and look at the wireless section. Select the wireless connection that you normally use and try to connect. Tell us what happens from there.

Some possible causes might be:
- The password for the wireless router in your home network may have changed.
- If your home wireless router has recently been replaced, or if the iPod is trying to connect to an old or outdated connection, you may need to remove any non-working connections shown in settings and/or create a new connection to your home wireless router.

Re-creating the connection to your wireless router and making sure you have the correct password is the first step to solving this. If that doesn't help, give us more details on what happens when you try to connect (from within Settings).

I have a netgear wndr3400 wifi route in use. It is located in my office at home. It is upstairs in the front of the house. My laptop is downstairs in the rear of the house. The system works but does drop...

WNDR3400 is a dual band WiFi router.
In case your Laptop has Wireless N card then you can can use Wireless N on WiFi else you need to use Wireless G.To enhance the Router performance Disable one WiFi Network on your Router(Either N or G) and configure Channel 11 for long range signals.
To configure said changed you need to login into Router (http://192.168.1.1 or http://10.0.0.1)Check IP address to find your router's IP address (Gateway address is the router address)Type User name and passwordDefault username and password for netgear routersUsername : admin Password : password
Goto wireless settings and disable one of the wireless network a per your requirements (N 0r G, if you have Wireless G adapter on your laptop then suggest you not to use Wireless N)Changed Channel - 11
Save settingsAnd reboot Router
Hope this helps

I cannot connect to the WIFI at work, but I can connect to my WIFI network at home, and other public networks. The wireless network at work is pushed by a D-Link 8200AP with a WAP security, just like it is...

Your laptop cannot connect to your work's wireless network because the security settings (ir WAP) in the D-Link is different to the security setting in your Netgear.
The wireless card in your laptop will need the settings changed to suit the D-Link's wireless settings ie the SSID and WAP.
You will need to change the wireless card settings in your laptop back to the Netgear's wireless settings to connect to your wireless network at home.
Some wireless cards allow you to set up different profiles for different wireless networks which allow you to switch wireless networks easily by just selecting the profile for the network you want to connect to.

I have acer laptop 5580. 3 year old. Recently i have installed Windows 7. Wireless was working nice. Now, system is identifying the wireless, but not connecting. After troubleshooting it is giving...

If your device can detect other acces point then, your wifi device is correctly installed. If not, os will tell your wifi have problem. If you try connect, and have problem with connection, it came from your acces point(wifi router expample). Maybe it have password that have not match with your pc. If that access point is yours, then you can try check the password for wifi using cable connection.

If that acces point(wifi router) is not yours(public), then you cant get the password unless you try hack using air-ng, backtrend using wifi device that can capture and monitor the network(wifi *** support a/b/g exmple) if it only support b/g, you cant get wep encryption password.

If it does not have password, and you try to connect, but it still problem, that mean, it have restrictly to MAC address in wifi router.

I m unable to connect a wireless connection in my acer laptop

Check that the Wireless button on laptop is enabled, this turns on/off wifi

Check that you have put the correct wirless password in, you can find this in your router under wireless settings or on the back of the router or in the letter you got with your ineternet

Have you had the wireless working before and now it doesnt work or?

I am trying to connect my netbook to the internet and it won't connect because it can't find an ip address i have looked and tried everything what do i need to do?

The first way, and one I use a lot, is just plug your netbook into your router at home, using the netbook's Ethernet port and the cable supplied with your router.
This way works every time, gives a fast and secure connection, but means that you need to use your netbook within cable distance of your router. Any internet usage will be part of your normal broadband usage with your home ISP, but isn't the point of netbooks that you can be mobile with them? Who wants to have nice new netbooks tied up by a cable?

2 - Wireless netbook connection using your home ISP
Another way to get online with netbooks if you're at home is to connect wirelessly to your home router.
It's a very easy process - just turn the netbook on and it will seek out your router. You get a fast connection, good security (if you tell your router to use WPA encryption) and it will usually work anywhere in your house or garden. Several netbooks, laptops or other computers can use your internet connection this way from the same router, so your family and friends can use their netbooks at the same time.
3 - Wifi netbook connection out and about

A really cheap way to get online when you're out and about is Wifi. Many busy locations - pubs, hotels, shopping malls - have "wifi hotspots" which are simply powerful wireless routers that you can use to connect your netbooks wirelessly to the net.
Some are free and can be used by any computers that are nearby. Others are owned by telecomms operators like BT Openzone or mycloud and you need to pay to use them. Monthly subscriptions or pay as you go are available. So are these free and cheap choices ideal for using with cheap netboks?
For anything other than general browsing on netbooks, beware of wifi. The free ones have no security at all, and the others have password protection, but the data you send and receive is not encrypted. This means anyone in the vicinity could snoop and listen in on what you were doing. I don't bother with wifi for this reason.

If you have a wireless router you must know the password you made when you set the router up.
Try also to look in your controlpanel network and shareringcenter.

Hope this was helpfull.

I have cable from wall to comcast modem ethernet to belkin wireless surf router then to my home pc. I am unable to get online with my laptop.

First make sure your wireless network driver installed on laptop. You can check it in network property. For that press windows key +R key so you can see wireless local are connection icon if it is installed then right click on it and enable if it is disable then again right clicck then click on connect then if in your belkin router wireless enable then you can see your router network there. Then connect it. But if your wifi network icon is not there then you need to install it's driver also make sure on your laptop wifi switch is on you can turn on it with FN key + F5 key too. If you want to enable wireless in router follow below . Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then click on wireless and enable it then save settings and restart router. You can also set wifi security code in wireless security enable WEP then enter code it is your password to connect wifi. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

How do i turn on my wireless capability?

Are you trying to turn on wireless in a laptop, PC or the modem itself?

Modems have a specific IP address that you can get from tech support of your internet vendor.

Laptops if WIFI onboard should simply have it.

Laptops with WIFI cards need drivers and sometimes software.

PC's with WIFI card or USB WIFI often need software etc.

Once working you then need a WPA or WPE login and password to access the internet. If at home you should have that information or call your ISP.
