Question about NorStar M7324 Telephone

1 Answer

Accessing company phone directory

I have the Nortel M7324 set up as the attendant station at my small business and when the receptionist is away from her desk the system is programmed after three rings to answer the call, play a greeting and offer access to the company phone directory by pressing 1. When this is done, the caller should be taken to an audio recording of the company phone directory which provides name and extension number.

While this function worked fine for some time, now for some reason when callers press 1 following the recorded greeting, the system responds by saying "you have entered an invalid extension." A recorded greeting then invites the caller to enter the correct extension number or spell the person's last name.

Going through the System Coordinator's Guide, I can't find anything that offers direction on how to correct this problem. Therefore, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Robert

Sounds like you shut the CCR tree down. Go to AA>table>1>CCR>chng>1>enable. that should take care of it

When I pick up my nortel norstar phone m7324 line 6 lights up can I change this to line 1?

In tech programming (Config) you need to got to the Line data and remove lines 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 from the pool it is in, make it none.
Note if line 1 is in use then you cannot call out.
Note sure why you would want line 1 as your outbound, systems are to use the bottom lines out and work their way up and inbound starts at the top and works their way down.

If you dont know how to program or the password call your local vendor in for a 1 hour charge.

If there is some strange reason then state what the setup or issue is and we can see if there is a work around.

NEC Dterm80 phone, Model DTH-16D-2. We have an Extension that rings as a back-up to the main attendent/receptionist in the event she cannot answer an incoming call. I need to disable the incoming ring at...

Hi if you just want to silence the actual unit, most often you will find a small switch on the unit, that switches OFF the ringer, or often one can turn it down, via a control on the unit. Other times one can set it Off or down in volume via the settings, use the manual in these case to ascertain what to do.

Above is a manual so you can check exactly what and how to do what you want.

If this cannot be done, then take the phones case OFF, locate the "Ringer" and disconnect it from the board, problem solved.

I have a Nortel T7316E phone at work. We have extensions but don't have direct dial; only a receptionist that can place calls into our voicemail. My question is, how can I check my voicemail remotely after...

Depends on the voicemail, but generally:

Call the receptionist

When the auto attendant answers, press * (or sometimes "**"), OR ask the operator to transfer to your line and press "*" during your message.

It will ask you your login information.

Dial your extension and password together as one number and press #

You can now operate the voice mail.

Sounds like its trying to use the default greeting using you name from the company directory. I would verify that the mailbox greeting is in place (f981>admin>greet>rec>prime>).
