I have a Mitsubishi TV model WD-65C9 and yesterday I heard a pop sound and the screen went black but there is still sound. Is this just a lamp bulb issue?

That pop noise was a so called "CAP" capacitor letting (they actually blow up) go on a circuit board, open the TV cabinet up and look carefully for a burned spot on the circuit boards, it will be small, when you locate that board it may fix the TV is you replace the damaged board.

Tv popped and went off, there are 2 circuit boards how can I tell which is bad, power board or audio video board,, no lights on tv work at all, complete zip

If you Heard a popping sound. Most likely it was a capacitor that went bad. Yahoo search capacitor to see a picture.
Usually capacitors swell when they go bad. if you Don't know How to spot it. Concentrate on the circuit board you plug connects to and check to spot the capacitor. You might not actually have a standard capacitor. So look for a film capacitor as well.

Good luck

My digihome flat screen tv seems to be getting no power

It is probably your power supply. A lot of TVs have weak capacitors that last only a few years before failing. Remove the TVs back cover and locate the board where the power cable plugs into. Make certain it is unplugged from wall power. Look at the board and the round cylindrical pieces soldered on the board. Look at the top of each one, if the metal cap is bulging outwards on any of them then it has failed. Inspect all of them for any burn spots or leaking, if you see any of these conditions than the capacitor is bad. Be very careful touching them, capacitors store electrical energy, so they give a pretty good shock. The bigger the capacitor the bigger the shock. I would advise you to leave TV unplugged for a couple of days before working on it, this will allow most of the capacitors to bleed off their energy. Look for the part number on the power board and search for that number on eBay or Google just to see if you can find it. If not than I wound have an electronics shop replace them if needed. If you do locate a complete power supply than replacing it yourself is straight forward and simple. Disconnect all cables and remove the screws holding the board. Reverse procedure to install new power supply.

I have a Samsung LN46C630 that got fried through an HDMI cable. Replaced the main board because of visible burn spots near the HDMI connection and in another spot near a heat sink. TV came on fine and was...

I would replace the power supply as they are not too expensive.
New M/board, should be OK. Have you checked the RAM for errors and installed the latest BIOS firmware?

Any way of knowing what boards are blown after a surge?

You need an ohm meter. Or take the boards out and inspect them for burn spots or on the bottom of the board look for a white dust area, this is an indicator of something has burned or blown. Also look for bad resistors, capacitors, and fuses.

My tv is not turning on when i push the on button

The power supply board is at fault usually. Check for blown fuse, capacitors that have a bulging top or any burn spots to locate the failure

It won't turn on

I replaced 3 capacitors and fixed this problem. They were 1-10v 1000uF and 2- 10v 3300uF electrolitic board mount capacitors. Easy to spot on the power board, the tops were bulged up. $5.54 later it works perfectly now.
