Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a 8GB Kingston USB and I'm trying to copy an mpeg video file about 5GB into the USB, but it's not working. The message keeps saying the disk destination is full and insert another disk. The USB is completely empty and when I try adding pictures or other files, they work.

Hello

I know this might sound dumb, but have you tried formatting the drive?
Something else you can try is to assign a new drive letter to the drive and this is how you do it.

Control panel
administrative tools
Computer management
Storage
Disc management
Then you must see your flash drive in the bar chart at the bottom
Right click on the flash drive
Change drive letter

The other thing might be that the file is corrupt. Try this, it should resolve your problem.

Best regards

KINGSTON removable disk error

Find and check real free space go to my computer and right click your driver letter and click properties it will show what is real ammount of disk. For one 4GB file it must not be problem but for meny little file can take more space besider their sum of capacity is 4GB. At format check correct ammount of data "capacity" is 8GB (7.9) also file system for NTFS or FAT32. FAT cant bear 8GB.

sounds like a bad hard disk or a malware virus interceptiong all data and corrupting it.
try www.hdtune.com free home version. if in health tab shows yellow. start looking for a hard disk
try in start, run (type) chkdsk /f black windows shows. press Y then enter reboot. see if it finds corruption. if its data not physical damage, it might fix it!
