Ok, Is the error you are given a NO Signal Error? In most laptops you have to connect the cables but you also have to press [FN] and F5 or F4, look for the key that has a small screen on it, to activate the external monitor function.

My os is vista how can connect to my jvc flat tv as a second monitor?

How you connect to your tv is not so much a matter of OS as it is dependent on what type of video connections are available on your laptop whether RGB, S-Video, mini-display port to DVI, or HDMI.
Once the tv is connected then you will need to right click your desktop and choose whether you want the tv to be a clone display (desktop to show on both your laptop screen and the tv, or use the extended desktop setting to have half the screen be on the laptop and the other half to be on flat screen tv.

How can i fix my hp 210-1041NR mini laptop black screen problem,

Time for a trial and error.
1.connect your laptop to a monitor or tv that has a VGA connection.Use a vga cable and connect it to your laptop then to your TV or monitor. If the screen shows display and works on your TV or Monitor ,Then its likely that your Laptop screen is faulty which can be replaced. If it does NOT SHOW on your monitor or TV then it means your GPU is faulty which then you will need to replace the motherboard on your laptop.

How to connect laptop to flat screen TV

You can use a VGA cable to connect to your flat screen. Then select the RGB input your tv and it should work. If your computer is new and high end enough it may have HDMI out and then I would use an HDMI cable.

Im trying to connect my laptop to my tv how can I go about?

Have a look the available ports (connections) on your TV.
There can be; HDMI, S-Video.
Look at the available output connections on your laptop. You might have to purchase a cable which connect them together.
VGA connections can also be made from laptop to TV.

Then you have options of expanding your screen or use function (fn) and look for a function key which will allow a multimedia connection to the screen.
With some screens you go to menu and make appropriate selection e.g VGA if you have used this mode of connection.

Give more details of you laptop; will be able to give a detailed explanation.

well u can connect it to a computer monitor or to TV by using this product

follow this link to see it and all the required cables are included in the product

but my advice is if u want to connect ur laptop to an old TV (Not flat and doesn't have a high resolution) don't connect to it and buy a new LCD screen to ur laptop , so just connect ur laptop to any TV which is flat or LCD and have a high reolution cause u may face a problem in colors and resolution

Trying to hook compaq presario laptop to philips lcd digital tv

hey fox,
sounds to me like a connection problem. If the compaqs output is vga, you need to convert the input (tv side ) to hdmi, component, s-vidio... what ever you can find. Typically when you hook up your computer to a flat screen or such, its best to try to use the hdmi ports or the rpg. But if thats not available you need to take the outout from your laptop ( whatever type that might be and input it into your flat screen tv. If you input laptop into tv under ( eg..HDMI) then when you VIEW it you need to select the correct source on your flat screen. Such as hdmi or pcmi or rpg.I know that the do sell alot of cables that adapt from one type of connection to another. Typically only one cable is required from the laptop to the flat screen. If you think about it you are only using the flat screen as a monitor.

Depending on the laptop, the usual way to do this is to connect the VGA cable to the laptop and the TV. Select the VGA input from the television remote and press FN+F4 to switch the image to the television set.
