Question about Dell 3010cn Laser Printer
As often happens with DELL printers check all the paper paths and make sure there is no sign of any paper or pieces of paper. Also vacuum the paper path areas and use a soft brush to clean all the paper path sensors.
Also check the Web Config Tool to make sure evertthing is OK.
Reboot the printer.
If that does not cure the problem then reseat the fuser unit and try again.
If that fails then reset the NVRAM and reboot the printer.

Does the feed roller make a complete revolution? There are plastic guides on each side of the feed roller. When the tray lifts, does it get stopped by these guides and is not allowed to lift any further. If No, the roller does not. It looks like the guides might be stopping the tray from lifting all the way. That's the problem...... and a common mistake. The plastic guides were not re-positioned correctly when the Paper Handler/Registration Assembly was replaced. You probably see these guides pointed downward? They shouldn't. Remove the PH/RA again and tilt the plastic guides until the square cutout on each guide fits into the bottom edge of the PH/RA as you replace it...let me know how that work for you and please do not forget to rate my service so we can improve on it with your help. First turn off the printer.
Then pull ink cartridge from printer.
Then clean dust from its position on printer.
Check on ink cartridge clean ink powder and dust from it.
Then refix ink cartridge.
Then check in back side of printer that there isn't any small paper pieces.

Note Be careful to not force the print head to move.
If the print head is positioned at the far right hand side, you cannot move it. Please contact Brother Customer Service from "Contact Us".
Note Use a flashlight if necessary to check thoroughly.
