Just so you are aware I have tried to install the driver but no success - end up with driver detective softwear but that has not helped and the usb ports have not had this problem before with any other devices.

    Any suggestions would be great

    thanks

This is a driver related issue.
Please reply with the Operating system you are using, and I will try to locate the proper driver.

Have you used this USB port successfully in the past?

You must install the proper DRIVER so your computer will recognize the device.

Please use the "Continue With This Expert" option so we are connected in the future.
Thanks!! :)

Minolta does not have a driver for windows XP.

    It is not supported.

You will not find one... as they stopped after 98se.

You can ATTEMPT to use the 98 driver - but i'm pretty sure thats why you cannot find the camera currently.

DOWNLOAD THIS DRIVER to your desktop.

CLICK HERE to see how to download the latest FIRMWARE to your camera

    Plug in the camera.

If it asks for a driver - point it to the file you just saved on the desktop.

If it doesnt do anything -

Then...click START--CONTROL PANEL--SYSTEM--HARDWARE TAB-- DEVICE MANAGER... and look for an exclamation pont when the camera is plugged in.

If there is one - double click on it, then click reinstall Driver... and point it to the file on the desktop.

Otherwise you are relegated to using the removeable compact flash card and seperate reader.

Companies do not support products forever (usually 10 years) and it seems they stopped after 98se in this case.

    Thanks for using FixYa!!

after reading the compatiblity HERE - the driver appears to be a generic USB driver, and should already be included with windows XP.

When all else fails - follow the process i detailed previously to get to the Hardware Manager.

Find USB drives... right click on them and select DELETE

dont worry - they will be found as new hardware aftr restart, and re-install themselves.

There may be a conflict with port sharing with a previously installed device.

Once all USB drives are deleted - restart, and let XP find and reinstall the USB drivers.

Then plug in your camera to see if its recognized. (dont forget to power on the camera :)

    Keep me posted.

    Thanks!!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Konica minolta maxxum 7d support

This is a common problem with the 7D. The shutter curtain will stick after several years of service. Put the camera in clean mode to get the curtain to lift, or send it to Sony to replace it. It was a design flaw by Minolta.

I would suggest that you buy a external USB card reader, you should be able to pick one up quite cheaply and see if that works ?

Its possible you might have to reformat the card in your Minolta Maxxum D7 to get the camera to recognize the card.
