Question about Gateway MT6707 Notebook PC
A few days ago, my laptop turned itself on while I was awaiting a new power cord. It died, and now the thing won't respond to the presence of the new power cord at all. Also, after and since it died, the battery light has been blinking red.
Have you tried taking the battery out and running strictly on the AC cord? If so, and it still has a problem, then it's not just the battery.

Check your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugs
into the compute. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside the
jack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have to
take the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto the
motherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.
