power button blinks and then goes blank. the power on the computer was turned off immediately and the computer never powered down properly.

The power supply(SMPS) inside the cabinet(CPU)needs to be replaced with a new one.Buy one with the same ratings(wattage). If one can still buy the same manufacturer & same model.........sodeep

had the same problem, its actually an issue with the motherboard, but just to eliminate that possibility, just get your computer power supply (you will find this inside the tower) checked first by a qualified technician
