Question about Whirlpool Refrigerators
Does this fridge have the controls on inside of the doors mounted to the ceiling., If the freezer is located on the bottom , then the freezer hepls cool the fridge via a channel in the back and a small door is controlled by the PC or Jazz board, When the fridge calls for coold air it opens the small door and turns on the fan in the freezer and blows air up the channel into the fridge, Check and make sure the fan works and the small door works Properly. There should be service instructions on the bottom of the fridge. Follow the direstions and it will help you find which component may not be working. In My case the PC board was bad. Which was located behind the control buttons.

I'd be looking at a froze over evaporator.. The freezer usually will seem okay, and the refrigerator will be getting warmer. however, after awhile even the freezer will go out if its froze up.
The thing you need to do is determine if your freezer evaporator is frosted. If so, the air will not be able to draw thru the evaporator and get over to the fresh food section. So, defrost the coil if it is froze up and this will give you temp service.
Its difficult to troubleshoot this, but if you have a ohm meter, you need to check the resistence of your heater and defrost thermostat. if these are good..Its possible your adc is defective..9The timer)

I have a whirlpool ed22pq fridge that is shutting down. I have cleaned, checked the compressor relay, both fans seem to work ok, does not appear to freeze up. I saw on a blog, a guy said to gently hit beside the control panels, on the refer side. I did and it came on, worked for 2 days, shut down last night. I hit the panel and it is currently working. Any thoughts? Friend said he thought it was a thermostat sticking, but do not want to open things up until I have an idea. Would appreciate any help.

Letting perishables such as milk and eggs get warm doesn't just effect the taste; it can also allow bacteria to grow. It's essential to guard against this by adjusting your refrigerator temperature when necessary. Read below for how to do it.
1 Measure the temperature of you refrigerator. To measure the temperature in a fridge without a thermostat, just place a normal thermometer in a glass of water and place it inside the fridge. Check back 5 to 8 hours later to see what temperature the water is. This allows you to determine the temperature indirectly.
Hope this would help you.
Have a nice day!
