Refilling the tank does not solve this problem, canon design this printer to have their ink tank replaced, so do not worry too much about the ink level, as long as the printer prints you are fine....all you need to do is refill every time the print quality is not good, don't wait for the ink to dry up, this could cause damage to the print head.
