Tried it with different new batteries.

Ok, there is a synch button in the back of the wii remote close to the battery. On the Wii itself there is a little drawer type area by where you put the game disc. There is a synch button there. You want to push both buttons, the one on the wii first and then the remote, they should synch from there rather quickly.
Hello there, what you want to do is open the back of the wii controller where you put the battery. Then you want to go to your wii and open a little slot drawer type thing next to the DVD slot. There will be a synch button on both the controllers and the wii, push the button. Note that you will have to synch each and every controller to each and every wii. Meaning if you go to your friends house and they have a wii you will need to repeat the process at their house and also again when you return to your house, but it only takes a few seconds for them to recognize eachother. Once you are synched to your machine if you dont take it to a different Wii you wont have to synch every time you want to play just the initial time. Happy Gaming
you probably have to resynch them. turn off the power button on console, then unplug from wall for 5 seconds. plug back in and turn on console. when the health and safety displays on the screen open the front of the console and press and hold the red synch button for at least 15 seconds. this clears all previous synchs. open the back of the wii remote and press and release the red button by the batteries. then press and release the synch button on the console. this should re synch the remote. repeat for any other remotes.
