Open Question

My scanner is not working anymore

My computer crashed. I installed all original cd's everything new and now my scanning option is not working anymore. My printing option works fine.

I keep rebooting my system but that does not seem to help. What can you recommend that I do.

Thanks

SOURCE: HP All-in-one will not scan

I think I have the solution for you (after facing similar problem). Try installing the drivers and then go to my computer right click on the HP and select "Scan using wizard". My HP is able to scan using this method although I still can't scan using the button on the printer so if you don't mind clicking the mouse instead of the printer's button you should be fine. Let me know if it worked. Cheers, D.

SOURCE: Printer and copier work fine- scanner says USB not connected.

I had this same problem and it is fixable, but not the way you would probably like, though you can still scan with the printer. You just have to open the Paint program and click from scanner or camera, and then choose your printer and click scan preview, and then scan, it works just fine but its a little time consuming.

SOURCE: When I try to scan, I get error message on printer

I think you have installed the HP full feature software in the computer.
You can check it, you need to click on Start button -> All Programs -> HP -> HP Director

please check if you are able to scan from HP Director (if yes then change the below settings so that you would be able to scan from the button on the unit)

open the HP Director -> click on "settings" -> scan settings -> scan to setup and you need to populate all the options which you see in the left panel. when you will populate all the options to right panel. Then click UPdate device or OK button. and then try to scan again from the button on the unit. It will work. If it does not then check for the DIM (Digital imaging monitor) icon in the system tray, it would have a green checkmark over it. if you do not see it then you have to start it from the below steps
please click on Start button -> My Computer -> C: Drive -> Program files -> HP -> Digital Imaging -> Bin -> hpqtra08.exe when you will double click on the file, you will see DIM icon in the system tray and you will be able to scan from the button on the unit.

I just bought A Kodak esp 3250 series AIO printer. I can print from computer, copy and all that but whenever I try to scan to computer or even preview scan I get a error saying :An error occurred while...

Try a new USB cable. Scanners require bidirectional communication with the computer and thus can fail when printer itself works. (If you use a print server or USB hub, try a direct connection.) Also try changing USB ports.

Another thing to try is to remove the TWAIN driver and reinstall it. This requires the original software CD from Kodak.
1. From your computer desktop, click Start > Run. (In Windows 7, type run in the search box then click on Run.)
2. Type %windir%, then click OK.
3. Double-click twain_32.
4. Right-click Kodak, then select Delete.
5. Insert the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software CD into the appropriate drive, then go to D: > printer > scanner.
NOTE: The CD is indicated by D: above. The CD drive may be a different letter on your computer.
6. Double-click aioscannr.msi, then follow the instructions to remove it.
7. Go to D: > printer > scanner, then double-click aioscannr.msi, and follow the instructions to install the file.
8. Open Home Center Software:
a. Select Scan Documents and Pictures.
b. Scan a document.

Unfortunately, if the error persists, the scanner may need service. Contact Kodak: http://www.kodak.com/go/contact .

I hope this helps.

Scanner sees the Mac computer. Scan to computer starts with an "accept" command from the computer. Scan starts but then an "unexpected error" message appear on the computer and "there is no computer...

this happens to be drivers programs systems crash.
due to a virus infection, unexpected deletion or unknown settings changing for scanner.
the best way to resolve this is to go on control panel,add/remove programs and then search for the specific program for your device and unistall.this will delete the program from your computer then you will have to insert the drivers cd you purchased along with your printer and start a fresh installation.make sure that you have the cd first before uninstalling.
the other method is that you can insert the cd in the drive and start installing.thye registry will notify you that you are installing an already installed program.it might prompt you to repair or recovey depending on the model you have, select the option or you can overwritte the already excisting program which is the most appropriate.

Introduction Some products do not have full scan functionality in Windows Vista. This is because full-featured Vista drivers are not available for all products, especially older products. Trouble with an older scanner

I'm assuming this scanner interface is a SCSI connection. First thing you may want to look at is the SCSI ID number switch at the very back end of the scanner. Before changing the SCSI ID switch make sure your scanner is powered down. Repeat steps above when trying different SCSI ID numbers to see which one works with your computer. If you have other SCSI devices connected make sure they are not sharing the same SCSI ID # which will cause a conflict.
