First you need to know if the wattage your speekers is Peak wattage or RMS wattage. Peak wattage is defined as the maximum wattage your speaker can handle, where RMS (ROOT MEENS SQUARE) is the wattage your speakers push 100% of the time. Example: Your sub may hit at1500 watts sometime, but every time it hits it pushes 700 watts, so the sub would have a rating of 700 watts RMS and 1500 watts peak. As far as your original question goes, you need to include the wattage of the sub woofer, and how many other speakers you are wiring, not just the wattage, if you have 4 speakers then each speaker is running an estemate of 450 watts, so alittle more clarification is needed.

What size amp needed with a sony explod player?

this bandpass enclosure is rated peak power at 1200 watts . what this means is that each subwoofer in the is peaked at 600watts to make 1200 watts . what your looking for is to power up the subs with rms continuous wattage . you need an amp that will put out 400 to 500 rms a channel to run this sub enclosure at 800 to 1000 watts rms to keep the speaker from blowing

audiopipe apf1801
71671968.jpg this amp will give you 1 channel @ 4 ohm x1 350 watts 1 channel @ 2 ohm x1 900 wats 1 channel @ 1 ohm x1 1800 watts you would have extra power for better subs with more power later but you get 900 watts which when connected right would mean 450 watts per sub be perfect for you . i sell this for $320.99 in my store can shipp any where in usa to contact me caraudioquestion@gmail.com

The red triangular light on my 1800 watt kenwood amp is flashing and i do not know what to do to fix it. no sound is coming out of my subs

i have a smaller kenwood amp but it has the same triangle, i had that problem too, so i ran a ground wire from the battery to the amp, with 12 ga wire, and then i also grounded it with the chassis ground, on the big amps its better to have really good grounds and connections

Subwoofer loudness

Do you have enough amp to power the subs, sounds like the coils are heating up and shutting down. Twice the amp for the wattage of the speaker as in 100watt sub 200 watt amp supply and so on.. 1000 watt sub would need at least 1500 watt continuous out put

I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO WIRE THREE 3012 THWELVES TO A 1800 WATT KENWOOD AMP

Its hard to tell what you can or cant do without knowing exactly which kenwood amp you are using. Generally speaking though most kenwood amps are stable only down to 2 ohms. you will be better off just using 2 of your 12s wired in parallel- that will give you a 2 ohm load. There is a way to use all 3 simply by wiring them in series, it will end up giving you a 12 ohm load on the amp though which will work fine but you wont ever achieve the full power that the amp can do.

What size speaker wire do i use with the mofo 15 from the sub to the box then the box to the amp

The size of the wire has more to do with the amp's output than it does with the speakers. The wire should be the same size throughout, from speaker to box, box to amp. A minimum of 16 guage multi-strand wire. Most amps that put out up to 500 watts max or have an RMS rating in the 300 watt range should do fine with this. If you want to be on the safe side, there is no limit to how big your speaker wire can be, only how small or a minimum. If you're using a very high output amp, like over 500 watts RMS, you can use 12 ga. wire. If you want to be on target for your size, I need to know what amp you have and how many speakers you have.

Depending on what kind of music you listen to I would say around a 1200 Watt Amp would suffice for what you are saying. Thank you for using Fix Ya! Don't forget to rate the overall answer to your question.
