Question about IBM ThinkPad T20 2647 Notebook

Thinkpad -cant connect to the internet

My IBM Thinkpad came with TP-Link 54W CardBus Adapter TL WN310G; I have never been able to connect to the internet.

I have installed and re-installed.

Any suggestions ?

Hi,
You mean you have physically installed and uninstalled, or just removed i device manager?
Can you also tell me what model you have? It's not saying, just that it's a Thinkpad

Have you set the TP Link TL-WA901ND IP to have 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway ?
Also DHCP server is where ?

if not the driver work with adapter ,there may mot work. I was installed downloaded driver first time worked ,but after few days it was not worked ,i tried to install another driver. problem solved.

Try disabling Windows power control over the wireless adapter. you can do this from control panel > network adapters > double-click the wireless adapter > "Power management" tab > un-check the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Update your Wireless Adapter firmware @ http://www.tp-link.com/support/download.asp?a=1&m=TL%2DWR340GD

There are 3 versions for your product(TP-LINK TL-WN353GD, Important***select the correct firmware version to update. Then download the latest drivers(Setup Utility) & and install the drivers for your adapter from the TP Link site.

i think you have the model number wrong tp link hasnt got a wn31044g adapter. If its the inbuilt wireless adapter you need to get working then try these drivers

the T42 does not have WiFi, instead it facilitates internet connection via 16 BIT & 32 Bit PCMCIA slot to install a WiFi card , in order to go on the internet.

The ThinkPad uses the following adapters: v 360, 365X, 380, 600: 16-Bit PCMCIA v T20, T22, T23: 32-Bit CardBus and MiniPCI v T23: 32-Bit CardBus and MiniPCI Daughter Card v T30: 32-Bit CardBus and LAN on Planar Board (LOB) v T4x: 32-Bit CardBus and LAN on Planar Board (LOB). 16- and 32-Bit PC Card adapters are configured during ThinkPad initialization. Network Interface Controller data rates are: v For Token Ring: 4/16 MBps v For Ethernet: 10 Mbps...........16 bit PCMCIA 10/100 Mbps.......32 bit CardBus 10/100 Mbps.......MiniPCI and Daughter Card 10/100 Mbps.......T3x and T40 LOB 10/100/1000 Mbps..T42 LOB The MiniPCI Ethernet adapter is accessed behind a removable plate located on the bottom of the ThinkPad directly above the Model/Type S/N sticker. No internet connection


Your hardware could be bad, or you may need to adjust your software settings.

Besides uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers; what else have you tried.

Need to know any error messages.

Need to know about the network (and its security settings) that you're trying to connect to.
