Most common failures in these LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply. C242 470uF 10V, C241 & C242 1000uF 16V, C261 & C319 680uF 35V failed, replace them at once.

Monitor does not turn on

The most common cause of power issues with that model is a dead power supply resulting from a failure in the capacitors on the power board. This is a very easy repair. You have to replace the 6 filter capacitors on the power supply board. The capacitors on the power supply board should be flat on the top and when they fail the tops will bulge showing failure. You can open the monitor up and look at the power supply board and check for the bad capacitors to verify the failure point. Here is a link to some information and parts kit to repair that board.

I hope this helps.

My monitor goes off. When I turn the power off then back on, the screen comes on momentarily, then goes off again! The power light stays on during this.

It sounds like the backlight power supply is failing. It is a common failure for LCD monitors. The usual failures are blown transistors and blown capacitors. It can be repaired, by an electronics repair service. You need to weigh the cost of repair against the cost of purchasing a new monitor, to determine whether it is worth fixing or getting a new monitor.

Monitor won't come on

Most LCD monitors have common problem due to caps failure in the power supply, that will be the first place to check. Need to verify that you do have 5vdc and 12~18vdc from the power supply output.

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed ACER monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

It sounds more likely to have power supply failure if you hit the power button and it does not turn on.

My Envision 7100 Stop Working

These are all some component failure problem in the monitor circuits. This may have been caused by faulty components or overheating of the components causing intermittent or permanent failure of some components in the circuits. This causes the feedback circuits to sense incorrect voltages or currents in the circuits and turn on the protection circuit. It may also cause total failure of the power supply circuit and a loss of power to the monitor. These units should be returned to dealers for servicing. Hope this helps you .

There is power but no display

Your symptom is commonly caused by failure if the inverter circuit. It is made by Sampo. The inverter powers the backlights. Replacing the inverter is the first step to resolve the problem.
