Super nintendo turns on but not picture or sound

When i turn the super nintendo on it lights up red. So i dont think it is the power cord. I have bought two extra super ninteno and still not picture or sounds. I tried to use the wires from my gamecube and n64 but still no picture or sound. I have the rf cable but it doesnt work also. Can it be the power cord or it is the system that is broken? Some please help! Thanks

I don't think it is the a/v cable. It works fine for my gamecube and super nintendo. Any other ideas of what it might be? Thanks

If you've tried 2 other super nes' and still no picture and sound.. don't you think it's the "yellow, red, white" cables that might be an issue? doesn't sound like a power cord is the issue at all if it's getting power to the "red light".... get a new y,r,w cable (sry.. tired and forget the name)

Wii has solid red light, won't turn on, faint ticking noise

if it was dropped check the bluetooth module , they can come unplugged and the wii will not function. Children love to put change in the wii which can short it out. Never bridge a fuse as it can cause unsafe conditions and potentially a fire hazard .

I turn my Super Nes console on and nothing happens. The light doesn't come on, seems to be not getting any power to it. Could it be the cord?

Check the cord for output power, you can use a voltmeter for this, of it your gusty use your tongue, it wont hurt you much it's pretty close to 9 volts if I remember right. If that has power check to see if the part you plug the cord into is loose at all, it may of been broken off on the inside and needs to be re-soldered. if both of those fail you might want to check any of the connections on the main board for bad solder points. I do think it might just be a worn power supply/cord

The connection for input from tv aerial to tv is broken

Your Super Nintendo has two outputs, Unless you have the Mini Super Nintendo.

But since the mini is rare lets stick with the regular one, If you are talking about the cable that plugs into your television, The one that plugs in to coax (where the cable box would go) Should look like a black cord with a black or gray box on the end and screws onto the back of the television,
If thats the part thats broken have no fear, There should be another input that looks like (`````#``````) (_______) Im not an artist sorry lol, Anyways this cord has three wires on the end red, white & yellow.
The mini if im not mistaken only has one output, Anyways if you have a Gamecube or Nintendo 64 that cord will also work on the Super Nintendo.
Also make sure when plugged in and turned on that there is a small red light on the front indicating that it's on. If you need a wire you can get one here http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-AV-Cable-Super/dp/B000035Y6B/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1286967890&sr=8-1
Amazon has them for around 5 bucks including shipping.

Super NES Console: My super Nintendo gets power (red light turns on) ...

Maybe the one that is not turning on to play game is broken then. Ensure that you have a known-good game cartridge inserted before powering on the SNES console. Most older, cartridge-based game consoles don't boot without a game installed.
Does the power light to the left of the controller ports turn on when you turn on the power switch?
If not, check your power adapter and outlet for functionality and good connection.
Check that the reset switch is not stuck. Wiggle it back and forth through its range of motion a few times. If something sticky gets in there it can get jammed in the reset position, which will prevent any game from booting.
You mentioned that there is no image. Are you getting any sound from your games after waiting a few minutes with everything connected and turned on?
If you hear game sounds or music from the SNES, but see no picture and you've already (really and truly) ruled out the cabling and TV, then you might have a bad main board in the console.
If you don't get any video or sound, then it's not booting your game. You can find other recommendations about how to clean game and console connections, but usually inserting and ejecting a game 10-20 times will knock loose or grind off enough gunk to get a game to boot. Try this, and be sure to use the eject lever instead of ripping the game out to avoid console connector damage. If it's still not working, repeat with another game.

The Super Nintendo will not turn on no matter what we do! We have all the equipment we need and it's all hooked up correctly, but nothing happens. Not even blowing in it will help. What is the problem?

Does the light turn on?

If you get no light then your power cord is bad. You can get a new one on e-bay for between $8-10.

If your light turns on and you just don't get picture on the screen (screen goes black) then your game is dirty. Wipe the gold bar on the bottom of the game with a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol. Let it dry and try again.

If you get absolutely NOTHING on screen, it is your AV cable. You can get a new one on ebay for about $2.
