HP dv9200 not charging battery

I have an HP dv9200, which I had to open up to replace a faulty audio board on. The installation and reassembly went fine, but ever since then, my battery has not been charging. It is detected by the computer, but simply remains at 0% with ''Plugged in, not charging'' as its description. I have also tried a brand new battery in the laptop, but the result was the same.

I opened the laptop up again, and check the connection running from the AC plate to the motherboard (I only saw the one), and made sure it was properly seated, but no luck. Running the HP Battery Check says that no battery can be recognized, so the computer doesn't seem to see it. The blue "charging" light on the front of the laptop is continuously flashing, but I cannot remember what this means under normal circumstances. Any other ideas?

Additionally, I "talked" with HP customer support. They suspected it might be an issue with the "motherboard power supply". I questioned them if this meant the CMOS battery, but they were unable to tell me. Could the CMOS battery be at fault for this issue?

You may have loosened a connection by mistake or connected a wire wrong. open up and check all power connections.

the cmos battery keeps the date/time settings in the cmos memory chip as well as certain boot and bios settings.
the first sign of the cmos battery failing will be the date time reset to factory setting. (if the chip was set at 1/1/2005 at 12:00 the date/time will come up as that every time you boot up)
Can you check the charger on another laptop? or using a test meter?

There are two cables that come off the DC jack plate and plug into the motherboard. Make sure that you seated both these cables fully or you will have the above problem.

hi,
You have to chek the battery charging circuit of your Mac 1200. If the the charging circuit is faulty then the battery will not get charged. In all ecg machines AC line is used only for charging the batteries . Even though if you are connected the AC line the machine will work on battery. It uses a 18V 1.4Ah battery. To get this battery to full charge it need a charging voltage up to 20 to 21.5 volts. Connect the machine to the line and check the votage at the battery terminal. The volatge should gradually increase. If not then the charging circuit is faulty. You have to check the Inductor coil L3 and Thermistor R5 in the charging circuit board after removing the battery and power line.It shouid show an OHMS bellow 5 OHMS. Also you have to check the 24V input to the charging circuit from the power supply.
ok

This happened because residual of water, or consequential oxide on wiring or board contacts caused a short inside device.
Try drying again, if it still does not work, one of the components has blown, you will probably need to replace the internal board.
Check for oxide on connectors.

Comp went off with the battery lights blinking and doesnt charge

Sounds like your wall supply is gone bad, you must check to see, remove battery, an use only wall supply, if it doesn't go, it is that. if it does, then your battery has gone faulty.

Your right. The motherboard that is installed to your laptop is faulty with some hardware like sound and a power. Better to check it again from the one who replaces the motherboard and with all of your devices to be working okay.

My iPAQ 5555 won't charge.

well that's really the problem when u go ur phone stocked for a weeks or two. i have my advice.. try charging yout battery manually. how is that? modification is needed. remove your battery from ur phone. and connect it to your charger directly.. (how is that? create a wire that can connect your charger to your battery. make sure u connect the right polarity) in this way your battery will charge for a moment and will give enough power to turn on your phone. because showing up that orange thing when charging up needs an initial power. so that is why. but still u can charge your phone. just live it maybe for an hour. it may work!

HP Ipaq 4155 not recognizing battery

Try taking out battery and plug in power. If it works, battery is faulty. If not,
Try taking out your hard disk plug in power, if it works, hard disk is faulty. If not,
Try taking out memory card, if there's a sound, memory card faulty. If no sound, it's your motherboard that is causing the error.

Note: If machine is under warranty no need to pay for the repairs.
