Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I connected my Behringer E1520 to my QSR4000 Amp They worked fine once. the second time I connected them the 15'' woofers stopped working on both. I have sound in the tweeters only. I do not have a warranty on these I bought them secondhand but the looked new with very little wear. All of my other speakers work fine with this amp.

Is your amp actually a QSC? Well, regardless the first thing that I would is check your both your speakers and crossover. There are a couple of things that could have gone wrong, but it's going to take a little work to trouble shoot it. It sounds like you have already checked and the amp is actually producing out so..

1. next you will need to remove the input connector plate of the speaker and do a visual inspection of the crossover itself. you should be looking for anything out of the ordinary such as burnt areas on the circuit plate.

2. Is there a fuse on the circuit board to protect the speakers themselves? if so, use your volt-ohm meter and check it for continuity.

3. check the woofers themselves, you can do this with a 9 volt battery and some raw speaker cable. When you connect the speaker leads to the battery you should hear a "scratching noise". When you connect the positive of the 9volt to the postive of the speaker the cone will move forward. The opposite will occur if you reverse the leads. If the speaker moves or makes any noise, the speaker should be called good. At this point, it's definitely a cross-over issue.

I tried to find some more product info to be sure that you weren't over powering the speakers but couldn't find anything on the amp. Regardless, the steps above will help you determine where the problems lies.

Bass went out

The 15 inch woofer is blown and you are hearing only the tweeter horn. I would definitely check that speaker on something else though, because the amps inside will also blow fairly easy, and you can't get parts for these. I would salvage what you can and move on. If both speakers work alone, check connections and amp. If you find that the 15 does work, then make an unpowered monitor. Behringer does not give any referencing of any parts. They have all special part numbers that you can't crossreference to find replacements. This is a marketing strategy to eliminate others from repairing, so you will buy another one. They think they would sell more but it just turns musicians away from their junk. The only piece of behringer equipment worth using is the FCB1010 controller and nothing else.

Does anyone know how i should hook up a pair of peavey sp118 Bxsubs with a pair of peavey pr15 tops and the behringer inuke nu6000 please help

You will require 4 heavy gauge 1/4" speaker cables in order to connect all 4 cabinets to the Behringer power amp. Usually two longer ones from the power amp to the sub woofer cabs. Then two short ones from the second "thru" jack to the upper 15" cabs. Remember the entire audio frequency range is going to all four speakers. Sometimes you will have problems balancing the low frequency levels between all four cabs depending on the loading of each. A more desirable way to do this is with a bi-amped arrangement. This way two seprate amps are used for the subs and 15" cabs and you control them independantly.

12" woofer not working

I bought a 3rd B212D unit that powers on, has white noise, no music. I took the 8 screws off and discovered that the solder connection at the woofer had broken off. I surmise that either the unit was dropped or the speaker wire had gotten hot over the years. Since the amp had an open output from the break, the high output burned up as I heard a pop when I turned the volume up. . If your volume wasn't maxed out, you could check the wiring and make sure it is connected & save yourself some change!!!

My subwoofer doesn't receive power, all amp fuses are fine, amp powers on, remote wire and rca wires are connected and intact. Before it stopped working all together the woofer would cut out and after...

If you are getting power to the amp, try this....Find a small speaker, unhook your sub and wire speaker to amp. Turn on your system at a low volume....If the other speaker is playing through amp, then your sub is shot.....If the small speaker doesnt work, then its either your channel is gone on the amp or the rcas have quit off off your head unit.

Behringer B1800 subwoofer quits few times and then stop playing, when connecting a another speaker through the in and out speakon connections the other speaker plays fine, but the sub stays dead

Check the internal wiring. There may be a loose connnection and this is VERY hazardous to you amp !!!

These may also have a self reseting fuse and that MAY be damaged.

You should discover the problem when you open up the unit.

Amp keeps blowing speakers

If the amp blew the speakers , it sounds like the amp pumped HIGH levels of DC voltage into the speakers.

Get another amp and not Behringer, not Pyle, not Gemsound and not Numark.

Could a ground stop your woofer from working?

First check the speaker wire from the amp to the sub, see if it's connected right. Second check the rca cables that goes from your amp to the back of the deck. I f both wires are still connected fine try to replace the rca cables. If it still doesn't work the rear out put at the back of your deck, where the rca's are connected are bad. FYI deck is bad.
