SOURCE: 32 BIT OR 64 BIT?
I beta tested Vista 64 bit, and had very little problems running 'most' software I had.
Without knowing the specific software you will be trying to use, it's hard to tell. Most software manufacturers DO offer their stuff in 64 bit, but it's often NOT included on the installation disks.
For the average user, I would stick with 32 bit, only because some programs won't work under 64 bit, unless it states 64 Bit compatibility right on the software box.

Ummmm. Its quite expensive to do that but i suppose if you need to ten its a viable option. You could buy a cheap 32 bit machine instead or try downgrading vista.http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/1033/ordermedia/default.mspx This may help you if you retail bought the machine.

HI. that is not possible on your hp pavilion 9800, the architecture design of your motherboard and the processor installed in this computer is on 32bit microprocessor. In order to install a 64bit operating system, you need a motherboard and a processor designed in 64bit.
