Dave, do you have a copy of ANY operating system on DVD? If so, Place the OS disk in the drive, power up and hold the F12 key down; when the Boot screen comes up, choose the DVD as boot device. Continue with OS installation and your problem(s) should be solved.

I have a toshiba laptop equium a100 laptop want to restore back to factory settings how do i do this

The best option is get a restore disc from Toshiba, I've done this a few times and it is a very easy process. Once you have the disc just boot the laptop with disc inserted and away you go!!.

U have not mentioned actually what the problem is? If u want to boot FAT 32, use bootable Win XP CD/DVD, after booting from WIN XP, u will get options to convert ur FAT 32 into NTFS, hope this will solve the problem

Can not open windows xp os

At startup you should see a prompt to press F12 or another key combination to select a boot menu. Then selcet the CD/DVD drive, then you should get a prompt to press any key.

If that doesn't work, then boot to the BIOS setup (Again there should be a prompt at boot to go to setup, then change the boot order to CD/DVD, save settings and exit
