My lawn mover will not start after running completely out of gas. The battery is good. The starter just clicks when I turn key. It was running fine before ran out of gas

You may have 2 problems. Check your battery at the cables. I suspect it is not related to running out of gas if the starter will not turn the engine over. If you have a hand starter, try that. Sometime you can have a good battery but bad connections to the battery.

Mower died and will not start

Check the spark plug for spark. They can go bad without warning. If no spark try another one in there, ,also try the plug in another engine to see if it sparks there. If it does, check for rust on the flywheel where the magnet passes the coil for rust. Also check the edges of the coil for rust where the magnet passes it when it spins. If it's an old mower with a condenser in the ignition system, the condenser could be bad as well.

Why Craftsman riding mower wont turn over & only makes click sound when turn key on??

1.try jumping the battery with your car battery. I have had same issue in the past with a brand new battery.
2. Try spraying starter fluid into the carb while cranking. If it starts or at least tries to start (assuming cranking is fixed), you have a fuel problem. Again, when I first tried to fire my Used mower, had to use starter fluid to get it to start the first time, but never since.

How can I tell if my starter is bad on my cub cadet rtz mower

Check for spark

Have to get the test plug for small engines

Is the battery years old & partially dead?

Is the oil clean & full

Won't turn over or won't start?

Clean the flywheel & ignition coil or whatever
system it has for spark

Check for intake gasket leaks.

Did the meter always go down to 9.8 when it did start?

Your best to work on things & learn-- when they work correctly,
not wait for years then be lost

Why my mower sputters while idiling and at times

If the gas is more than 30 days old, and it has been sitting in hot weather (90+), then it starts to go bad, rather quickly.

(And if no fuel stabile was added to the fuel before hand)

Or, if the gas can spout was not sealed properly in storage, it could have been water contaminated, from sprinklers or rain.

It may not necessarily be the motor itself.

The cheapest fix, is to drain all of the water out of the mower's gas tank. (you will still have some bad gas in the lines)

Put some fresh gas, with fuel stabile, in the tank and see if it will start. If it does, it may take a few minutes of operation to flush the bad gas out of the line, and motor.

That was the problem with my mower. It turned out to be a gas issue, and my mower was fine. Good luck.

Hi I did a tune up ,changed and checked every thing I done ..too I changed the oil ,oil filter ,gas filter air filter ,got a new battery changed the plugs there new too...even a new belt new key ...but...

Spark and gas??? Must have both. Pull spark plug wire and check for spark. If you have spark, check gap on spark plug. Check the bowl on carburetor. loosen bowl screw to see if gas is coming out. If you have gas coming out, carb needs to be taken off and cleaned or rebuilt.

TORO TIME CUTTER SS4235,NOT STARTING,NO ELECTRCAL POWER TO SWITCH

Check wiring for ground. Ensure battery is fully charged or replace. Replace spark plug. Clean or replace air filter. check oil level, all mowers have a low oil start cutoff. Bad gas? Flush out fuel tank by removing gas line, flush fresh gas thru. Reattach gas line, fill with fresh gas, always use Stabile in gas! Check fuel line for cracks and secure connection to carb. Battery should read 12.8 volts or higher. .
