Phone doesn't recognize the SIM card

I bought a phone off of E-bay and inserted the SIM card from the phone I have now. It fits fine, but the phone still says "Insert SIM" on the screen. What do I do next to make it recognize the SIM card?

Re: Phone doesn't recognize the SIM card

The sim card holder has a tiny slide mechanism. After inserting the sim card and pressing it against the body of the phone, place your finger over the card and slide it gently forward. The tiny plastic part that holds the card will snap it into place. Hard to explain, but it will work.

Re: Phone doesn't recognize the SIM card

Make sure you remove the battery before removing or inserting any SIM card. Unfortunately, I also get the "Insert SIM" message even after making sure my old SIM is inserted properly (and locked in place) in my Motorala v66 replacement.

My galaxy s2 gt19100 wont recognize the sim

Take our the sim card and wipe the copper area with a soft cloth.
Re-insert and then check. If it still doesn't recognize, try inserting the sim in some other phone. Also try some other sim in the galaxy s2. This would ensure whether its the sim or device thats faulty.

Can u put a tracfone sim card into any phone

Using the sim card from your tracfone in another phone is possible if both of the phones are unlocked. This means that the sim card if inserted into any phone, that phone will recognize the sim card. If you place your Tracfone sim card in any other carrier's phone and it doesn't work you can call trachoma and they can unlock the sim card.

Hi there,i had purchased htc thunder bolt a month ago from Miami US and since it was a lock piece i also bought unlock code online. Now the biggest challenge i am facing is when i put my local active sim...

Hi, i think your step not correct when entering HTC Thunderbolt unlock code. You must use your old sim card to unlock your phone, don't use new sim card before that phones completely unlocked. That's why your sim card not recognized. If this method not working maybe you get wrong HTC unlock code, since it's little rare for me. Usually if you bought unlock code reputable online store, they usually send unlock code with complete instruction how to insert that unlock code in your phones. The bottom line try my method and if not working get new code. Thanks.

NB: don't enter your wrong code to many times in your phones, it will caused your HTC to hard locked state and you can't use that phone even you put your old sim card.

Screen reads insert SIM and Sim is installed?

If you tried another sim in your phone, this could be the result. Nowadays, some phones "recognize" the original sim card and may reject another. You might have to get with your provider to clear this up.
Hope this helps... Good luck.
