My Poulan 13.5 hp runs until clutch is released then just quits even with the blade clutch lever off. By-passed switch under seat and does the same thing. Thanks in advance for your help.
Re: My Poulan 13.5 hp runs until cluch is released
Remove the drive belts from the motor. if it runs ok check your pulleys. one of them might be siezed.if it still dies chk the safety switch on the gear selecter and deck engage lever.

Sounds like the clutch plates may be stuck together. Happened to me after a long trip in the rain and bike sat for a few weeks after that. Had to take the cluch discs out and clean them
Check to see if the clutch cable is broken. Watch the long clutch release lever under the oil tank as you squeeze the clutch lever. If it doesn't move when you squeeze the lever, your cable is broken. If it does, you've got problems with the release mechanism inside the right side of your transmission most likely.
I have same ride same problem put your ear down by the cluch lever and you will hear a click when you let the cluch out the same time the radio quits if you take the switch off and hold it closed the radio will work all the time
There is a seat safety switch located beneath most seats, and on some models one on the PTO lever. Depending on the model, there will also be one on the foward reverse tranmission lever if equipped.
