Problem for Canon PowerShot A70 Digital Camera

The display remains black no matter what settings

the display remains black no matter what settings are used. The last time the camera was used was one year ago, since then it's been in the case. The shutter opens when powered up, batteries ok and lens cap is removed.

- This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.
