Question about Computers & Internet

I have an OnStream Echo USB 30GB tape drive that works perfectly on my Windows 2000 Pro PC. Since I've upgraded to Windows XP, I can't get the hardware wizard to install the external drive. It looks like it installs, it tells me it installed, then the wizard pops up again. I point the wizard to the original OnStream disk (Echo 1Safe Version 3.6), and it says cannot install... Is there a driver for OnStream DI-30 (external) that works with Windows XP SP3? and the Tech Support Number are no longer available. Help.

Can't Get Onstream to Load Tape

HI, This is normally a sign of a dirty drive head. If have any or if you can buy them, get yourself a cleaning tape to clean the head. Also check the tape itself is clear of dirt and nothing is broken/loose. M

Why would I buy this Tablet? (Fujitsu Stylistic LT C-500)

You may be wondering what an antiquated piece of computer's history could do for you, now in the year 2009. The answer may surprise you. This tablet has (when properly fitted) enough power and spirit to run XP, as a matter of fact it runs XP better than the included Windows 2000, or Windows 98SE. The thing makes this device a real possibility is the fact that it's so cheap! You can easily purchase one of these tablets for under $200 on ebay, fully ready to go with Windows 2000. Now... with Windows 2000 your options of what do use this for are a little more limited. The size and power of this device make it a perfect in car and on the go PC. Add a GPS USB dongle (about $40) and Streets and Trips (about $30-$40) and you've got yourself a turn by turn navigation pc. Have alot of .mp3's? Get a FM transmitter (about $20) and you've got music in your car that you control, and it's even cheaper than an iPod. Want to watch movies on the go? Grab a slimline DVD-ROM (about $50) and hook it up to your USB port, or just get a thumb-drive (about $10) and grab those .avi's off of your PC at home. If you've got a little know how you can upgrade the puny 6gb hard drive for something with a little more space, like say 40-80gb (about $40). While your pulling it out why not upgrade to XP... and truly unlock this little tablet's potential. XP allows quicker access to USB devices, more stable program performance, and better tools for your touchscreen experience. XP install is a minor pain in the rear... but worth it in the end. To ensure the best experience upgrade your RAM to the maximum of 256mb (about $20). If your looking for something cheap, reliable, and small enough to fit in your active life, look no farther than the Fujitsu Stylistic LT c-500.

No tape is seen in my adr onstream drive cartridge. does the cartridge already contains a tape or you would have to buy that one too

The cartridge does always contain the tape. If the drive fails to detect a loaded tape after the cartridge is put in then there is a problem with the drive.

My administrator profile password is lost.

I would like to introduce Windows Password Recovery Tool . it not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista and windows 7. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password. I Wrote it to an 512MB USB flash drive do this. Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm.

Upgrade Sgi 320 To Windows XP

I got this from wiki

The 320 and 540 Visual Workstations shipped originally with Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. Due to the ARCloader PROM, a custom Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) for Windows was necessary. Windows 2000was the last release which included the required SGI-specific HAL.Because of that, and because SGI ceased supporting the VisualWorkstation series, installation of future Windows versions such as XPis unsupported.

So it doesnt support xp. if u use windows 2000 it might just work. Its hardware design makes it not xp compatible.

Soyo Cigar HD20 Does Not Work in Windows 2000 Pro

Windows XP has built-in support for lots of USB devices, W2K doesn't. I went to the Soyo download site and it appears that your device has been discontinued, however, they do have driver downloads for Windows 98. I?ve had limited success with using W98 drivers in W2K but be prepared for odd behavior. Here is the link for the download: Good luck and please don?t forget to rate this post.
