You'll need the "AF module CN", but as the flash is no longer made will have trouble finding one.

It helps if you search for the correct flash model as Quantaray is a no-name bit of badge engineering for Ritz/Wolf.

Your flash is really a ProMaster FTD5700.

It will work, but not all functions will be availale. You can buy a Canon module for the flash.

Promaster ftd 5700

Hello, You will need to get the correct interface module. You need the module that works with Canon digital cameras with E-TTL II which includes the Digital Rebel XT. I bought the flash and the interface module at Wolf Camera's going out of business sale and had to go through three interfaces to get the correct one for my XT.

Doesn't work with canon d40 digital camera

You may have identified your own problem.

Your camera is either a Nikon d40 or a Canon EOS 40d (aka Digital Rebel), there's no such thing as a Canon d40.

If your Quantaray flash has the wrong brand dedication module on the bottom for your brand then it won't work properly (if at all).

If this is not the cause, then please be more descriptive: does the flash power up at all, will it work with other cameras, do other external flashes work on your camera? You may just need to go into the menu and enable the hotshoe.

Click here as well if you lack an operation manual: Quantaray products are always a pain to find manuals for as they're badge-engineered models supplied in the USA by Ritz/Wolf. The trick is always to find what the individual product is usually sold as. In your case, it's a ProMaster FTD5700. Page 2 of the manual will help you to identify which dedicated module you need for this flash to work with your camera.

I hope that I've helped, if not then please report back with additional details, or if I've helped you to solve your problem then please take a moment to rate my answer.

Will my qtb-9500a work on hotshoe of canon digital rebel 350

Yes. The trigger voltage is typically less than 5v so it is safe to use.

Quantaray QTB-9500A with Canon Xsi not working properly

This is probably way too late for the original asker, but the previous answer is incorrect.

The Quantaray QTB-9500A is in reality a ProMaster FTD-5700 and was designed for use with later model electronic 35mm AF models (using the correct dedication module).

As such, the trigger voltage is no higher than 5v making it safe for use on later digital SLR's.

The original answerer is clearly aware that high trigger voltages on flashes designed for earlier, mostly mechanical, 35mm film cameras are often harmful to later models, but you need not worry about your model.

Quantaray QDC-NK i TTL Digital Flash Module

The Quantaray Digital NK Module has a small tab on the side of the raised boss that the 8 pins sit on that prevents it from mounting on the QTB-9500A. It's intentional- the NK Digital Module is made for newer Quantaray flashes only. You'll need the older-style AF NK Module to attach to the QTB-9500A.
