Cover open display on at all times,power buton wiil not shut off,started when new ink cartridge was replaced

Your subject was cut off, can you please put the rest of it in a body of a response? A couple of suggestions without the whole issue are this. Turn it off, unplug it, and open the cover that is likely not really open. Look at each point of the cover for anything that could be in the way. Many times a printer issue is due to the tiniest piece of paper. In this case, a corner could be blocking one of the parts of the cover that needs to connect for the printer to see that it is closed. After that, I suggest pulling out the manual and looking for the proper set of buttons to force the printer to go through a configuration/cleaning. Beyond that, I would need to see it in person! ;-)

No Cartridges. Open Scanner cover, then reinstall ink cartridge. All Cartridges are full

Hi there,
No Cartridge will show on the display if the machine cannot recognize one of the cartridge or one of the ink is empty.
To make sure about the real issue unplug the mach from the power outlet then plug it back in after 10 seconds.
If the display show: "ink empty C" it means the cyan/blue needs to be replace. "ink empty M" it means the magenta/pink needs to be replace. "ink empty BK" it means that the black needs to replace. If the display shows "ink empty Y" it means that yellow needs to be replace.
Even if it looks like the cartridge is full, it really needs to be replace so that the machine will work again.

The canon mp 130 printer says error 5200 and will not print.

Start with printer powered off
1. Open cover of printer and verify that the ink cartridge carriage is not in the center of the printer. Leave cover open.
2. Unplug the electrical cord from the printer and wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug electrical cord back in, when ink cartride carriage moves to the center of the printer quickly unplug the electrical cord again. This should leave the ink cartridge carriage in the center of the printer so you can get to it.
4. Lift up the gray arm that surrounds the ink cartridges.
5. Remove the entire ink cartridge holder (not just the ink cartridges). It will lift out easily as a unit. Lower the gray arm that you lifted to remove the cartridge holder.
6. Close printer cover. Plug electricity back in.
7. There should be a message about checking the ink cartridge on the display (I can't remember exactly what it said but it was something like that).
8. Open printer, lift the gray arm that surrounds the ink cartridge area and reinsert the ink cartridge holder (with the ink cartridges in it). Lower the gray arm.
9. Close printer cover.
10. The display should appear normal now, and you should be able to print again.

hello, some of the time the color ink cartridge can cause the problem, especially if its a refilled ink, but at same time, i do know some of the new inks right out of the box will fail. so try with a new color cartridge first.

When I try to print a document it will only print the color images and does not print the black and white body of the document. I just went and bought a new cannon 40 cartridge and it is still doing the...


Please check the followings. If it doesn't help then I will send you other possibilities related to software.

1. If you replaced brand new cartridges, I hope you didn't forget to remove the protective tape. Please be sure to remove the protective tape from the black ink cartridge.
(Please check that, on some kind of cartridges there are two stickers on the back and on the bottom of the ink cartridges.)

2. After replacing the cartridge, if it is new you should specify whether it is new or old.

3. After installing a new cartridge you should continue with "Aligning Ink Cartridges" procedure as described in its manual.
If you try that at least 3 or 4 times it may be helpful.

Would you please print the test file which I uploaded HERE ?
Is it printing in black and in color within the same document?

Hello ,

Start by opening your ink cover and read the LCD screen; this will alert you as to which ink cartridge is not being recognized; make sure the cartridge that it is telling you is empty has been changed.

If the unit is still not recognizing the cartridge you have changed, follow the steps below.

  1. Unplug the power cord for the printer unit.
  2. Open the ink cartridge cover and remove all ink cartridges.
  3. Close the ink cartridge cover.
  4. Plug the power cord back in.
  5. Reinstall the ink cartridges.

1. Turn on your Epson printer.
2. If a cartridge is expended, you see a message on the printer’s LCD display screen. The icon on the screen indicates which color to replace. Press Start (NX210 Series) or OK (NX410 Series).
***If you’re replacing a cartridge before you see a message on the printer’s LCD display screen, do one of the following:
NX210 Series: Hold down the Scan button as you press the Index Sheet button, then release the buttons. Press or to select Ink Cartridge Replacement, then press Start.
NX410 Series: Press Setup, press or to select Maintenance, and press OK. Then select Change Ink Cartridge and press OK.
3. Open the scanner. Do not open the ink cartridge cover while the print head is moving.
4. Open the cartridge cover.
5. Squeeze the tab on the cartridge and lift the cartridge straight up to remove it. Dispose of it carefully. Do not take the used cartridge apart or try to refill it.
6. Before opening the new cartridge package, shake it four or five times. (Do not shake a cartridge after opening the package; ink may leak.)
7. Remove the cartridge from the package, but be careful not to touch the green chip on the cartridge.
8. Remove the yellow tape from the bottom of the cartridge.
Do not remove any other labels or seals, or ink will leak.
9. Insert the new cartridge into the holder and push it down until it clicks into place.
10. Once you replace all the necessary cartridges, close the cartridge cover and push it down until it clicks into place.
11. Lower the scanner
12. Press Start (NX210 Series) or OK (NX410 Series) to begin charging the ink. This takes about 2 minutes.
When you see a completion message on the LCD display screen, ink charging is finished.

Ink sys failure error message


Try the following steps and check if it resolves the above error.

1. Disconnect the Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable from the back of the product, but leave the product turned on.
2. Open the cover of the product and remove the print cartridges.
3. Close the cover and wait for the Insert Ink Cartridges message to display.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product and the wall socket, then wait for one minute.
5. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button.
6. Open the cover and reinsert the print cartridges.
7. Close the cover. If prompted, print a calibration page.
8. Print a Self Test to verify product is functional.
9. Reconnect the USB cable, and try to print from the computer.

After installing new cyan cartridge, display reads No Cartridge

look at the ink cartridge and and first see if the ink covers the top of the cartridge. there is a little part of the ink cartridge the best way to explain it, is there is a tab,. that tab goes into a sensor. if the tab has ink on it, then you mostly like have a problem with the sensor itself. but if there is no ink, the printer is correct. i have had several people bring printers with those type of problems, and when they bring the cartridge i look at it, and they are practically empty.

If you turned the machine off and replaced the cartridge, you can get this error.

Could you try the following procedure below please to clear the error, thanks.
  1. Turn on the unit.
  2. Open the top cover to access the print cartridges.
  3. Remove the new cartridge that is causing the message.
  4. Reinsert the cartridge and close the cover. The following message will appear on the front panel: "Press 1 for new cartridge or press 2 for a used cartridge."
  5. Press the 1 on the numeric keypad of the HP product.
If the message, press 1 for new cartridge or press 2 for a used cartridge, "does not appear after removing and reinstalling the new cartridge, and the low ink warning message still displays,

follow the steps below:
  1. Turn on the unit.
  2. Open the top cover to access the ink cartridges.
  3. After the cartridges stop moving, unplug the power cord.
  4. Remove both cartridges and close the top cover.
  5. Plug the power back in. The unit will reinitialize and a message will appear to insert the cartridges.
  6. Open the top cover and reinsert the ink cartridges. Close the top cover. The message,
  7. Press 1 for new cartridge or press 2 for a used cartridge," should appear.

Black ink cartridge doesn't work.

Have you tried
  1. Taking out all the cartridges
  2. Power down the power
  3. Power up the printer
  4. Open the scanner Cover
  5. Close the scanner cover
  6. Message will ask you to put the ink.
  7. Put in Black
  8. Close scanner cover
  9. It may ask you whether the Black is being changed.
  10. Open the cover.
  11. Install Cyan.
  12. Repeat step 8-10 for the rest of the 2 colours.
  13. It should resolve the Black ink empty message.
