The tiny plastic piece that pushes the wire to complete the circuit has broken. Where can I get a new one (that won't break)?

Make one youself out of quick steel putty. It is a 2 part epoxy putty that when mixed and shaped, it hardens ito any shape you need. It also bonds to surfaces like super glue.

My ESP AX260 fell face down off the stand and the impact though not very acute broke the headstock and its completely off the body. The fretboard is intact but the Tune O Matic bridge fell off. I really...

I have reattached three headstocks myself as an amateur... I would take your pieces to a Luthier and see what he says about it. The ones I repaired, an acoustic bass required putting in a steel pin to stabilize the joint and some epoxy for the pin as well as the wood glue... an acoustic 6 string required only careful gluing, as did a 5 string banjo...

In all cases Titebond III glue was used for the wood and perfect mateup of the parts was required. Nitrocellulose laquer restored the finish using very fine emery sanding (4000 grit) wet sanding.

The perfect fitup and clamping is mandatory, and the gluing, if done right, will be stronger than the original wood. A key is to have clean LARGE areas of glue contact.

Please do take the unit to a professional Luthier... you should find them in your phone book...

The upper left corner of the screen (triangular shape, approx. 8" vert. and hor. from the corner) is showing dimness, not completely dark but maybe halfway. What might be causing this? Thanks.

This is your mirror tunnel. Light passes through the mirror tunnel to the DLP. The tunnel is made up of 4 mirrors glued together. Over time the glue comes apart and the tunnel shifts.

It starts out like this: |_|
and when the glue breaks down it does this: \_\

So the light, instead of passing through the mirror tube, goes through the ends of the mirror, so you get SOME light but not all.

I contacted RCA and they said:
"Ok, well sadly they do not offer the light tunnel anymore, which is what you need. Sadly you would be rendered to get a whole new light engine assembly. That would be the D.N.D module, light tunnel, color wheel, optic spanner, and oci. mirror. Your best bet would be to search ebay for a broken engine and replace it that ways. "
Awesome support! NOT! (That is the actual full text of the message from RCA support.)

I have some high temp epoxy and will be attempting to re-glue the parts myself.

The tabs that hold hub inserts bave broken off several of my wheels. New ones are very expensive.Has anyone figured out a way to repair so they'll remain attached to the main part of the wheel cover?

you can maybe use some sort of epoxy to glue it back together but that is only going to be temporary, i would suggest, if you dont want to pay steep dealer prices, simply go to a junk yard.

I have a ghost of a black bar on the left side of my 61"dlp.

It sounds as though your light chamber is collapsing. This is caused by intense heat from the lamp inside the light engine causing the glue to melt that holds several tiny mirrors in a pyramid shape. This is a very intricate repair but can be performed relatively cheap compared to the replacement cost of entire light engine if you find the right service person. Look for an authorized service center or at least someone who knows what the expression light chamber collapse means. The small group of mirrors is located right behind the color wheel and requires the lamp, ballast, color wheel and housing to be removed in order to be replaced. Caution should be used when replacing this fragile compenent.

Do you have the projector inside a hush box? If so, it could be too far back in the box. Readjust and see if that removes your shadow.
You may have a haze on your lenses. Have you tried cleaning your color wheel and associated lenses? This procedure is for the skilled since you must disassemble your projector. Keep in mind that the color wheel is VERY, VERY fragile. Use a lens cleaning agent or 91% isopropyl alcohol and q-tips. The agent must not leave a haze. Have plenty of time and patience since this may take you about an hour just to clean the color wheel. Did I mention that the color wheel is VERY fragile…

This link may also be helpful. See section 5.10.

I hope this helps,
