Well I Checked my data resources and saw that there are no hacks or tricks for Sharp yet... the only thing you can try doing now is to ask your Dealership if they can unlock the regions for you. I've searched everywhere but couldn't find anything for newer models like HDDVD or Blu-Ray players.
Sorry T_T But let's hope someone might be able to help as well..

If you mean to play DVD’s that you may have purchased in another country the see below
For that you need to do a Google for "mymodel region free" or "region free hack"
Not all DVD players are capable of this often very simple modification that many manufacturers build into DVD player. (Usually just involves the remote control and a combination of keys)
Your search will turn up a lot of sharks that want money for the hack (fix)
There are a lot of sites where the information is free.
If after opening up the region free parameter you still have issues and you still want to play your dvd's from around the world you might want to consider another make or model
I am STILL (lauren) unsure of FIXYA's policy on this topic and am awaiting further clarification on the issue with regards to handing out these codes as this is not HACKING in the same sense as pirate software etc. it is just enabling an extra feature that the manufacturer provided.
I would prefer not to get my @ss kicked. That is why I can only give you the search terms rather than site links or specific information

You could try >Menu >settings >parental control> "set a 4 digit password" then change the region code to your country.
Unless you have my problem and updated the firmware incorrectly and nothing changes it...

I have to BD-HP 210 and what I did was go to sharp website and downloaded the updated firmware then download it on my BD player. Its a little challenging if you never done it before. I would suggest you call and have a rep walk you through or use the user manual.
