wide spread problem with the CCD Assembly on this line of JVC products. In particular with the GR-DxxU line.According to some posts on the net regarding using TDK or other 3rd
party DV tapes, it may be linked to lens-cap dislpay messages poping up.
From what I read, you'll have to:
1. Take the tape out. 2. Get a JVC tape 3. Take the battery out. 4. Leave unplugged for a long time ( 1 day or more) 5. put battery in 6. load JVC tape.
I cannot confirm this, so all you can do is try this. The worst it can be is that it'll cost you the tape or it'll start working all together and you are happy again.

seem to be having problems getting my camera to go in focus,the zoom always seems to be stuck forward even when it says its not,and never goes into focus,even on auto
