If it is a old saw it sounds like your engine seals are failing. when a engine seal fails it allows air in past the crank upsetting your fuel mixture You could try to richin the fuel mixture by turning the screw marked H anticlockwise a quarter at a time untill it runs Ps to set (h) screw to factory, screw it in til it stops then unscrew it 1 & 1/2 turns

Poulan 2150 chain saw starts after priming and dies after a few seconds

Take the exhaust off so you can see the side of the piston, if it is scored or damaged it means it has probably been run without oil added to the petrol.
That can cause the problems you are having, if it is throw it away, its not worth repairing

I can start my Poulan 2000 16" chain saw but it

If the saw is brand new, take it into a service dealer for a carb adjustment (covered under the warranty). This sounds like it is your issue and unfortunately, you cannot correct it yourself because it requires a special tool.
As for you manual, it is located at the link below

Gas ratio

Most saws built within the last 30 years or so can be run with 40:1 using modern synthetic saw oils. A number of late model units run 50:1. Make sure to premix the fuel and oil before adding to the saw. Hope this helps!

Poulan 14" chain saw will not start

Usually, the fuel filter gets gummed-up from leaving it in any kind of fuel for long periods of time. Fish it out of the tank and either clean it in spray-carburetor-cleaner or replace it. Check the condition of the fuel lines while you are at it. Proper storage is to drain the tank and run the engine until it stops. If still won't run, the carburetor internals may need cleaning and re-kitting. Make sure the spark plug is firing correctly. Hope this helps!

Chain Saw Collectors Corner
Did you replace the hoses? It only needs a pin hole. This is older than dirt! I can say that, I have a XXV. There should be an impulse line from the crankcase to the carb somewhere, it may be bad. Crank seals may be leaking. Maybe time to spring for a pressure diagnostic by your friendly local Stihl shop. HTH

I just bought a Poulan 16'' chain saw with quick adjust chain tensioning. The chain seems to loosen after a short time of use and the chain comes off. Quite disturbing.

1. It is common for a new chain to stretch. that is probably what occurred
2. I'd hold the tip of the bar 2-3" above a stump or even a news paper, rev it up for a few seconds and look for a line of bar oil. If none is visible your bar oil reservoir is empty or saw isn't oiling. If you added oil and it's not oiling return it to where you purchased it.
